I don't know if this is the right place to post or not. I don't feel like this is Anyways, my first experience with ketamine was in the hospital. I had brain surgery for a severe pain condition, and the neurosurgeon screwed me up even worse. I had 100 times the pain that I had before. I went to a pain management doctor, and that's when I started getting my ketamine infusions. The first one I thought I was on Star Trek Enterprise. None of my trips have been bad during my infusions. Maybe this belongs in more of the neuroscience forum...I don't know. Anyways, the ketamine infusions don't help like they should for the pain, they are supposed to reset the pain receptors. I only go and get the infusions for the feeling of being there but not being there during the infusion, because I have no pain then. Trust me, 8 hours of no pain does a lot for me mentally. Well, my pain doc said that he wants to do a brain pain pump. Well, I've heard of the spinal pain pumps, but this would be one attached to the base of my skull with fentanyl and an anesthetic in it that would go up into the ventricles of my brain I am guessing. I'm not trying to be an addict to anything, but I know I need something for this pain. Should I try and just stick the rest of my life out with this ketamine or try the brain pain pump? My doctor's not being very forthcoming with info about the pain pump, and I can't find anything really online about it...anybody able to help with answers?
