I shot up two to three hours ago... Just now I got really bad leftsided chest pain. It hurts more when I take a deep breath in. It feels like a muscle spasm. I just want to make sure it has nothing to do with the drugs. Does this sound familiar to anyone or am I putting two unrelated things together?

I think you should go directly to an ER. Chest pain on the left, hell, chest pain on either side ALWAYS needs to get checked out. On this one you are way better safe than sorry. Good luck.

Consulted with cardiologist and thinks it's just muscle spasm. If it doesn't go away then I should go to the ER. I also remember that I ate something spicy today so I'm going to take antacids and see if it gets better. The pain is radiating downwards so I believe it's just indigestion... I've just been worried about my injection practices lately... Or it could be a pulmonary embolism. I'm rooting for not... Bad sense of humour

I don't know, but if it were me I would be thinking that impurities were beginning to fuck up my heart. This is really the worst part about IV use. I hope I'm wrong :)

That was my concern. I cut down to using from everyday to once a week two days in a row. I am now aiming for every two weeks to not at all. This is a more realistic approach for me. So I talked to same doc again and he thinks it could be caused by splenic flexure syndrome which mimics heart attack. It makes sense because due to suboxone .maintenance I have been unable to go to bathroom regularly. I've been injecting since this past fall so it hasn't been that long. I don't know how long endocarditis takes to become an issue. Either way... I'm tired of this lifestyle.

Gee... Why didnt I think of that? ;) seriously now? Cured!

I used to be addicted to spice for several years. I stole and spend hundreds of dollars on it, and when I didn't have it I would get violent. I've passed out and had partial seizures due to it. However, I did find a way to stop. I know you can't stop doing heroin over night, but it's not impossible to strive for stopping and succeed.

Please read above thread. It describes my usage at the moment and the direction its going. Glad to hear you quit your addiction.

it could just be indigestion?
That's what I was hoping for but none of that medicine helped. Today it still hurts. What the doc said about splenic flexure syndrome seems to make sense. I started the thread hoping for the best but paranoid because I had thought that I may have waited too long to shoot back into the vein therefore allowing a clot to form and putting me at risk for pulmonary embolism. Although I have no other noticeable symptoms.
