I like a lot of other people picked up exercising on regular basis after I quit. Mostly at first as a way to get back and shape and a little to offset the 6000+ calories a day I started eating. Well the eating tapered off, I am exercising more and more finally getting back to my pre withdrawal weight. But one thing I keep noticing is the lack of endorphin rush I used to get pre the years of opiates. It really kills a lot of the fun of exercising and I really have only been doing it because I feel I have to. It also makes it so I feel like giving up earlier. Will I ever get an endorphin rush again or be happy I worked out?

Please note I am not talking a 15m run on a treadmill but an hour, heavy weight lifting, playing competitive soccer 3 times a week, etc. I just can't seem to find enjoyment in any of it and I kinda just want to give up. Please also note, I am not generally this depressed, actually I have been super happy up till today. Just not after a workout.

Most people get through the PAWS in under eight months. The a very strong chance that you are still in this phase and once you are through you will once you are through.

When you are done working out do you feel worse than before?

By worse do you mean physically pain wise? yeah, my body tends to hurt. But more it's just boredom even if I am pushing myself.

What other types of activities would you like to give a try? Perhaps a change in the sport/activity like maybe bunjee jumping/skydiving/rock climbing. Would these be of an interest?

Never sick anymore no. Since the day I quit I've averaged 4 to 6 hours of sleep and during awake hours I am bursting with constant energy that doesn't seem to wane.

Maya: Yeah I've always been a bit of an addrenalin junkie, I plan on giving those a try closer to summer.

I should note I was iving opiates (mostly diluaded and h) for about 6 years. Don't know if that helps.

I have 4 months off suboxone

but I still struggle with feeling good

just focus on what you should like, and things will come into focus

keep up with that exercise; GREAT JOB!!
