Trying MDMA for the first time ?

Hi guys how's it going, I'm pretty new to this site (as you may see it's my first post) but I hope to keep active! Now, to the main topic.
I am 19 years old, I have an extreme passion for electronic music (mainly house and dnb) I've been to a fair amount of music gigs, and also one EDM festival!
Now all through these, I have not touched anything apart from alcohol, I mean I obviously enjoy these events and have a good time but something has always interested me about MDMA and what the experience should be like. I have had friends do it and tell me it is like being in the best mood ever times a million which is believable.

Now I should be going to another music event in a few months time and looking on trying some MDMA, the only problem is I've tried only one drug in my life, that being weed and I have my ups and downs with it and the majority of times it usually makes me freak out and turn anti-social and paranoid, even with my closest of friends. Will MDMA be the same way? Generally I'd describe myself as a shy guy around new people, I'd say I have maybe mild anxiety in certain social situations.

Any information would be highly appreciated, thanks guys.

Also quick update, I always think about having a somewhat spiritual experience with drugs, but I'd say I'm just to scared to try them, in case I freak out like I do on weed (sometimes) but this MDMA experience I look to have hopefully gives me an educational experience along with a really good time.

Hey man, it's actually a pretty common question around here. A lot of people smoke weed before they try MDMA and end up not liking weed and so feel scared about whether MDMA will be the same since it is a 'harder' drug. They're two completely different drugs and reacting to weed in a bad way doesn't mean you'll react to MDMA in a bad way. I tried weed after I did MDMA and I have had similar experiences to yourself (anxiety, paranoia, anti-social etc) to the point where I just stopped smoking it because it was the opposite of fun. It'd basically make me an anxious wreck. MDMA on the other hand I've had no problems with anxiety other than sometimes during the come-up but it's usually short-lived before the comfortable euphoric headspace sets in. Point is, experiencing anxiety on weed does not mean you won't enjoy MDMA.

Just make sure you're testing your MDMA because there is a lot of shit being sold and labelled as 'MDMA' by money-grabbing dealers. Also, high doses of MDMA can cause high anxiety during the come-up and overwhelm you. It's important to get the dosage right to get the most out of it. This thread has lots of good advice.

Thanks man, I can see exactly what you're saying about comparing both drugs just a little nervous! Another thing is I feel a lot more comfortable with powder form than an actual pill, is there any suggestions you could give on maybe a starting dose? I would say I'm pretty much a light weight when drinking alcohol and I'm a pretty small guy as it is anyway.

It's completely natural to feel nervous before taking a new drug. Especially with all the sensationalistic bullshit propaganda force-fed to us all. I remember I was absolutely pooing my pants and nearly bailed and didn't do it. Luckily I made the plunge with no regrets! A generally good starting dose would be 100mg so you'll need to get a set of scales too. But remember that if you're buying a powder there's every chance that it could be heavily stepped on so that taking 100mg is only say 20-30mg MDMA (20-30% pure). A better way of doing it, and this is what I do, is to buy crystals from reputable sources since it's far less likely that they're cut with something. If you want to be really particular about dosage then take your weight in kilograms and multiply it by 1.5 to give you your recommended dose. So, I weigh 80kg*1.5 = 120 and so my recommended dose is 120mg. In all honesty, you could take anywhere between 80-150mg and still have a blast. You just risk either being slightly underwhelmed (80mg) or slightly overwhelmed (150mg) but it won't be anything major and you'd still have a great time.

i've never known anyone in real life who had a bad experience on MDMA.
the bad experience occurs during the time after the MDMA use.

Bad experiences on MDMA definitely are very possible, myself and at least three others I know have experienced them on tested, analysed MDMA. I think it is basically impossible to have a bad time the first few times though as the high is so overwhelmingly good at that point, it's after over use where the effects and magic have started to fade where anxiety and bad settings/ moods can really destroy an MDMA experience, it never gets bad-trip bad, but is uncomfortable and makes you feel a lot worse afterwards than a bad trip or a good MDMA trip

if they had a bad experience on MDMA they were probably not used to getting fucked up that much.
MDMA has anxiolytic effects, and is less intense of psychedelia than LSD or many other hallucinogens.
I hang out with people who can handle their highs, tho...

Actually MDMA can have anxiolytic or anxiogenic effects. And myself and all the others who have had bad times have like 20 trips on mushrooms/mescaline/2cb/LSD under their belt so are definitely used to getting 'fucked up' and can 'handle their highs'

I find high quality MDMA is much more of a culprit for this. I was lucky enough to obtain some MDMA that came back from tha lab as being 96% pure, and it definitely gives the worst come up and most anxiety of any MDMA I've tried, if you get stuck in an anxiety loop in the come up the whole experience is basically a very bumpy alternation between feeling OK and rushes of anxiety, when it goes well though it's fucking incredible of course. I find less pure (the brown/tan stuff usually) product gives a smoother, calmer more 'drunken'/relaxed kind of high but it can never quite reach the peak intensity of the purer stuff, instead it just floors you and turns you into one of those gurning retards sat on the sofa at the back of clubs

You can definitely have anxiety of mdma, but it is very unlikely on your first times, although I have read reports of it. The come is pretty much the only time this is likely though, especially if you take a high dose all at once, it really hits you. Best thing to do if you start to feel uncomfortable is sit down and chill out, let the anxiety pass and get comfortable with your surroundings. Mdma is a psychedelic and is very dependent on your mood and others around you. I've done quite a lot of drugs but I personally can find the anxiety caused by mdma very bad, and at a couple of times have ruined the entire roll by allowing myself to be overcome by anxiety at the start. Most people I know do not have this reaction at all though, and the first few times I had no problems. I combat it now by taking smaller doses over the night and dissolving these in water and drinking them, makes the come up easier.

You clearly have no real drug experience. Psychedelic drugs have completely unpredictable effects. The mdma I have taken has been tested with three different test kits, and lab tested at 94% pure. Weighed with mg scales. One study reporting common effects does not prove anything, stop spreading misinformation.

I'm sorry you don't agree with science.
Reality isn't for everyone...

Agree with science?? You know you can find some kind of study to back up any point. I'm not saying mdma always causes anxiety, I'm just saying it can for certain people. How many times have you done mdma, and where did you get it, and at what dose?

You really don't have to look far to find a lot of people staring that they suffered a great deal of anxiety during an MDMA experience, not surprising considering it is psychedelic and a stimulant, particularly when you've used it enough that the good-mood serotonin effects aren't so pronounced anymore and give way to those former ones I mentioned

The study shows a correlation of anxiolysis with high dose MDMA, and anxiogenysis with low-dose MDMA.
I've done MDMA 19 times and have never had a bad experience.
all tested (i never do without a test kit)
almost always within the 125-175mg range. usually on the high side of 150mg tho.

This is a HR forum and it wouldn't be good HR to tell OP that you can't have a bad time on MDMA when you clearly can. It's unlikely yes and it definitely shouldn't put OP off trying it but everyone who uses drugs should be aware that there is always an element of risk that the experience might not go to plan, especially with psychedelics

Just because most people do not get anxious, doesn't mean you can't, which was our original point. It's great you haven't had negative effects, but you definitely can, as I and others that I know have too.

Maybe my friends and i are just MDMA types?
just get good reactions from the drug?
Because nobody i've met ever freaked out or had anxiety on MDMA

Yep. I love mdma, it's one of my favourite drugs, but the come up has definitely made me feel very uncomfortable at times. It varies between batches, even though they're all tested, I think very very pure stuff can lead to an overwhelming feeling, and impurities in other stuff can help give the experience more of a drunk like feeling which can curb the anxiety. The way the drug can made you fixate on stuff can mean sometimes you can become overwhelmed by the anxiety on the come up. Usually if you sit down, have some water and chill it goes though and then the anti-anxiety effects of the drug kick in.
