Can hydromorphone be used to come off heroin?

I can order the Clonodine from Canada with no script....what kind of doses/schedule were you thinking of?

3-4 bags (NJ P Town stamp size) 2 X a day max....It's far too much. I know other running 15-20+ bags a day...I have no excuses. My fault from every way.

Can you describe the nature of your injury?

Heroin is no joke, you know this.

my suggestion is to find an alternative pain medication, or you know, weed. and the quit cold turkey.

i signed up just to scold you.
thanks, 4 years lurking, and you made me reply.

This comment is kind-of annoying. You sound like someone from /b/. He already said (if you read the thread) - " I seriously can't walk right and keep loosing my balance without my meds. They had me on longer acting stronger meds at higher doses"

It's not like he went pill shopping, and he even states himself that he doesn't want to get high off his prescribed meds, just live a normal regular life... People have legitimate reasons for getting on these highly addictive opiates, then becoming addicted/chained to them after it's too late.

Hydromorphone is one of the most common addictive opiates that can be prescribed, under fentanyl. OP probably went to H because of cravings, maybe he didn't want to ask his doc for more D, or maybe his tolerance built to a point to where his originally prescribed medication wasn't fixing his diagnoses.. This is probably why he went to H, but he could've also wanted to get high most likely too. That's what happens when doctors prescribe this shit, you're right, it's no joke.

Thank you. You hit all nails on the head my friend. The only drug I ever used for rec purposes was a little grass after my work outs. Like I said, I was almost a pro body builder and I took VERY good care of myself and treated my body with great respect. I never went pill shopping trying to get high. I spent a good portion of my life just punching thru the pain. BUT....I got sick with a rare case of anemia and started to lose weight, mass, and obviously blood. I looked like casper the fucking ghost. Turned out after FIVE (5) colonoscopies they found what my problem was. I didn't have "anemia"....originally I was told I have pernicious anemia. That wasn't the case. After I got so sick to the point where I was in the hospital getting iron fusion therapy every day along with blood transfusions....I swallowed a pill that was a micro camera. Turns out, I had a cut/fold in my digestive track, that's where I was bleeding from and why my hemoglobin numbers with in the low single digits. I was passing out 2-3 times a day....paramedics came to my house. The last time was when I was at the supermarket....I leaned down to pick something up from the bottom shelf....when I leaned up, the whole place spun and I passed out. Woke up in the ambulance.

Anyway...all this time they were trying to find the problem, my back problems became far more severe. To fix my bleeding problem, they took a laser and sealed where I was bleeding. Within 2 weeks, my blood levels went from 6 back up to 15. But, I lost tissue around parts of my back. OldFag asked what some of my back problems are. Pardon my spelling, but I have a nasty case of scoliosis, spina bifida, sciatica/nerve root disorder, lumbar radiculapithy, spondilosis, digenerative disk disease, and the latest one....hip deterioration. I got the problem with my right hip because I was often walking with a limp putting more pressure of my weight on one side of my body.

I was born with most of these conditions because my father was exposed to "agent orange" when he was in Vietnam. And it is FACT that many soldier's offspring are known to have several different kinds of back problems, along with other problems. Spina bifida being the most common. You can poke around the internet and see what agent orange has done to some....I'm lucky my old man (or I) don't have any cancer. I'm just worried that my kids in the future might have some of these problems. My sister has a few of the conditions I mentioned above. But she's not a body builder....she does have a few kids who are OK though and show no signs of back problems.

It really is terrible that I had to turn to H so that I could be pain free. I never in a million years thought I would. I have seen what it has done to people, and I lost 2 friends (well...aquatences) to this shit, and I don't want to become another number. Even with the D, I wouldn't take it if I didn't have to. But if I want to get out of bed and walk without pain, I need to take this shit. I refuse to do an operation that might end up leaving me in a wheel chair. FUCK THAT. I'd rather just get back on my D and live with minimal pain. H is the most effective, but it's expensive and I could very well kill myself. So that is why I am here seeking help. There is a lot of info out there as to how to stop, and I'm happy to say that I am 5 days free of H. I have been using very high doses of D to aid in the WD, along with xanax, tramal, grass, kratom, clonopin, and a few other things. I couldn't get subs or methadone....and maybe that's a good thing. I just have to be careful now not to use my entire D script....because if I run out, I hate to think I will have to get some more H until my D refill comes in.

Thanks to all who have been helping me. Basically, what I did was just stop the H and double up on my D dose. In a few days, I'm going to work on cutting back on the D a little. Ugh....

Mission accomplished. I am no longer dependent on the H!!!

The only way I could do it was with the help of the D. I almost doubled up the D dose that I was on for about 2 weeks. Didn't have the NEED for it. Yes, I did want it. But no sickness what so ever. Now, I keep a small stash of the stuff and ONLY use it if I have a fall or accident where my pain goes off the chart. I only had to use some ONE time....I didn't HAVE to, but the pain quickly fully went away, and I just put ice on my hip where I fell. I can finally move the fuck on with my life! :) Thanks fellas!!

Go to a clinic to get real professional advice. Switching from heroine to basically prescription heroine is not that much of an improvement. A detox off of heroine may be pretty easy with all the stuff you listed but it will be a hard detox off of dilaudid. However, if you don't intend to ever stop taking dilaudid then I would say your plan is fine just go get a doctor's opinion.

You didn't read my whole thread. I will ALWAYS have to be on some kind of pain killer....UNLESS I want to try a series of dangerous operations. I have been on hydromorphone for a very long time. If I stop...I can't feel my legs and parts of my back. Fuckn tears run down my eyes from the pain. I lose balance because I can't feel my legs and feet. SOOOOO....I have to stick with a pain killer. And out of the dozen or so that I have used, D has worked the best for me. I started using H because I would often have CRAZY CRAZY amounts of pain....and H was the only thing that would ease it. I normally don't have THAT type of pain, very rarely. Weather often plays a factor...but I just deal with it. But, when my ass falls down a flight of stairs and I have lumps all over my body from hitting all the steps....I'll take a small dose of H. So to answer your question, I have no intention of coming off the D. IF I didn't need it, that would be a totally different story and I would have an entire different plan. Bottom line....life is now much better that I am not dependent on an illegal substance. I get my meds from the doc, granted my ROA is a little different....but things are looking better for me. That is what my goal was, and in my book....I achieved it. So I'm damn happy about it. Doctor's opinion? On what? If I should stop using H? No...I did stop. I was using 3 times a day at some points. Now I use as needed and that might be once, twice, maybe 3 times a month....depending on if I hurt myself with a fall or in the gym. I don't see why I should now go to a clinic....what for? Tell them what? Tell them I stopped using H and I need advice? I achieved my goal.
