Gibberings CLXXXIV - I settled for HRing on EADD

Glad you're on your way to getting sorted, Josh. :)

How much do you take for that? I find 1000mg is rather useless apart for the temperature stuff unless combined with Ibuprofen, now that is a great combination for pain relief.
1000mg, dunno if me being only about 50kg makes a difference or not.

....Anyway, the op is Thursday 15th, at 7.30am. I'm the main event on my surgeon's list for that day (4 or 5hr op), so I'll be in first. Which us good news because I won't have long to sit in the admissions ward slowly having a breakdown... :p...

I'll be thinking of you of the 15th and fuck anyone else who has a problem with a few posts from you that scare them - because that's what it does: scare. No one wants to be suffering like you are and I don't know how you manage to keep interested in anything else but getting well - but you seem to <3

I've been reading, but often don't have time to post just lurk. I'm hoping this is going to be the last "run" for you of the really heavy intervention. I appreciate this may mean lifelong management, but this is no different from us who have other health issues, maybe not so "glamorous" (because mental health lifelong issues are ugly ugly ugly...) but still there should be more empathy here.

Just imagine Josh, life beyond this? %) Soon eh xxx

Mr England, I'd like to say hello - my hubby speaks highly of you :)...something to do with Germans!

That sounds awful, I'm really sorry :(

Yeah the fent/midaz is usually for sedation during a local but they quite often use midaz (or loraz or diaz) as a pre-med before a general.

The milk shit is usually sodium thiopental rather than propofol but not necessarily so

Anesthetics was my favorite subject at medical school, I so regret dropping out. Sometimes paramedic work seems like a shit consolation prize kind of....I'd love to have been a "proper" doctor....still paramedicine has it's (rare) moments I suppose.

All the best for the surgery. We'll be thinking of you and please tell us how it goes. Take care :)

Is your hubby the nice gentleman I was discussing WW2 history with the other night? Very knowledgeable chap and I thoroughly nice person. Tell him hello :)

Isn't that one on the many drugs that Michael Jackson was taking?

@Josh,thinking of you mate, you have really been through the mill and i just hope an end is in sight soon for you

That might explain why my joke about it being the stuff they used to kill Michael Jackson didn't get any laughs in the anaesthetic room last time then!

Thanks for all the support guys, it means a lot to me <3

I quite often get asked how I cope, or am told I'm strong or brave etc. It's weird because I don't see it that way at all, I just keep on trucking as it were, and I'm sure any of you guys would do the same if it happened to you :)

But yeah, a better future awaits, and this time I'm prepared, having had a stoma for 12 months already. Once you get settled with the right bags and products that work for you, it's just a case of 10 minutes every 3 or 4 days to change the bag, and about 30 seconds to empty it, usually whenever I need to pee. I'm not really concerned about my image, and it's a fun talking point down the pub, either to gross people out orc to let the more curious poke the bag a bit heh. It didn't really stop me doing anything I used to do (I went on two foreign holidays with my stoma in 2013), the only thing people find a bit annoying sometimes is swimming and I can't swim anyway! :D

Have you not seen Girls with Guts and other pieces online? There's no taboo there. If there is I'm sure you know how to piss them off :D

I'm looking forward to you posting about the don't give a fuck stuff for one - when life can get back to as normal as normal is (which isn't that normal really 8( but you know what I mean)..

No, you're good at coping - I wouldn't be, as I'm sure many of us wouldn't. You need to give yourself extra brownie points <3

Sorry Josh didnt mean to ignore your upcoming op :o, i havent had much time to catch up with everyones' news these last few days.

Best wishes that all goes as well as possible for your operation.

Look what the cat's dragged in :D

How's the job going? And did you dye your hair?

paracetamol relieves psychological aswell as physical pain http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/714460

i find paracetamol a bit relaxing too

i think it's alright, but so the morphine button i had after surgery on my broken arm was wayyyy better. When they took it away the nurse was like 'go on have one more hit before i unhook you'.

Ha. The job's going OK so far thanks, all the signs are that it will be much more chilled out and less pressured than my last place. :D

I didn't get round to dyeing my hair, i got very confused in Asda when all the dyes seemed to be marked "permanent", not those types that gradually wash out over ten washes or so like you recommended. And then i forgot about it. 8(

I'll have another look on amazon or something. Did you post a link to those washable dyes last time?

Your absence has been felt, but glad your out of the house and making money doing something ok! Not like I'm around these parts loads these days...:( miss all your gossip x

So what is it your doing? Though of course you need not say if its sensitive like nuclear fusion or the like. If someone asked me I'd say reports, stats and meetings :D

Superdrug is your friend re; semi-permanent hair colours, though I'm sure you should go au natural.

Pic? ...though not one of those you PM'd me =D:D:|

I'll be sitting in an office all day, and occasionally doing some work. ;)

I'll give superdrug a try, and i think I will take your advice about the colouring, though i must admit i really want to dye it jet black. I may post / send appropriate pics of the result depending on whether i end up looking like Tom Jones or not. 8(

This. I've had it plenty of times, when I was fighting infection in hospital, as soon as my temp went up, another bag of paracetamol went up. It's actually a pretty effective painkiller this way too.

My old drug worker (who was incredibly knowledgeable and actually asked me if I knew of bluelight!) told me about that. He said they call it acetaminophen like they do in America so people think they're getting something fancy.=D

Don't do it! 8o

What new drugs should I be toying with in 2015 MrMDB? %)

What can top mxe for me?

Cheers man! Christ I don't expect you guys to remember my op, I had to look up when it was myself when kate asked. ;)

Pre-op assessment tomorrow morning though. Which is entirely a paperwork exercise and if I get the right nurse will be over in 10 mins because most of the info, such as my religion and what organs they can have if they kill me (whatevers left!) will already be on file.
