Hello all. Let me tell you a quick story. About 20 years ago I had sex with a hooker that had a Yeast infection at that time. Just like a BONEHEAD, I figured, "No Worries, Guys never get yeast infections"? Right??? Oh, So WRONG!!! After a short time, I had fungus, mold, or whatever you want to call it, growing on the shower walls, toilet bowl, etc. But did not pay any attention. Then several months later I found that if I tried to grow a beard, my skin would get flaky and irritated like dandruff. So I shaved. For years, again, never paid much attention. Then, after years of alcoholism, things started to get worse, I got sore spots on my "Special Purpose" . Went to see a urologist, got some antifungal cream, helped some but did not cure. Was referred to a dermatologist, got antifungal pills from one of the best doctors in Chicago. Cleared up the sores but did not kill off the fungus completely. What I was NOT told is that you should not drink booze with the medication... How do I know I was not cured? well, the tub & toilet still shows fungus, if not cleaned and disinfected twice a week. Any food I touch and put in the fridge starts growing its own fungus colony in a couple days. So I started to do some research on the web and did not find much about Candida, (yeast infection) in Men. Most info was about Women. But the info I did find was horrifying :
Candida, Yeast Infection is fed by sugar. After 2 weeks of treatment Candida starts to become immune to any remedy you try to kill/control it with.
I don't remember exact figures but at least 50% or better, of everything most normal people eat or drink, eventually is converted to sugar by our bodies. There is a whole long list of problems that yeast infection causes, but the more noticeable ones are: Depression, Fatigue, Tiredness, Allergies to foods that you were ok with, ear infections, sinus infections, irritable bowel , (there were days I spent hours in the bathroom because of stuff I ate the day before. (and earlier I had an iron stomach) I could eat just about anything and no consequences.
The reason I even bring this up is because for a couple years I found relief through Opiates. It meant a great deal to be able to go to work, instead of spending half a day on the toilet and the other half just too tired and sore, fatigued, to accomplish anything...Now the Demon is growing immune to opiates also. I don't spend hours on the pot, but Depression, Fatigue, and tiredness is creeping back.
By the way, I quit the Booze when I found out that alcohol was feeding the candida beast quite well. Anyone with any similar experiences, or anyone that has found a cure or doctor that is effective, please let us know. I am sure that there are many people out there in tv land that have this bug without even knowing it.

There are some pretty powerful anti-fungal herbs out there. Common Cloves and Black Walnut are two. I believe RIMAs such as Syrian Rue and Ayahuasca vine are anti-everything (anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-parasitic, (not to mention anti-inflammatory and antidepressant)).

I've been using Syrian Rue lately, and it has been cutting down many food cravings I associate with yeast / parasitic activity in the body. I encourage to give it a try.

OUT, DEMONS, OUT!

the mould and shit growing in your home is not related to yeast infection but can have an immunocompromising effect.

What RhythmSpring says about antifungals is true, I had a yeast infection with poly-drug resistance and it sucked. Consuming cloves, pau d'arco and ginger tea help a lot, as does going on a sugar & carb-free diet for a while. Even complex carbs make the situation worse, if you really want results you have to restrict yourself to nothing but protein and low-carb vegetables like cauliflower and brocolli. Not kidding. You literally want to eat just meat, low-carb veggies and fats in the form of oils, which inhibit yeast growth and also provide energy you will need to replace carbohydrates. Fruit bad, sugar bad, bread bad, oatmeal bad, potato bad, alcohol bad, etc. If it has any type of natural sugar in it, it's bad.

drugs make it a lot easier to deal with but if your shit is drug-resistant then treating it manually by literally starving the yeast of any source of sugar is the only way to get back to normal and it takes a while. fortunately your body can convert protein and fats to glucose so you won't die eating a diet that the yeast will die from

Something that helps the women I've known who have had yeast or UTI's is pure, unsweetened cranberry juice.

I've been told blueberries work as well - blueberries might have been the fruit on the tree of everlasting life - SciAm had research on them a couple of decades back and BB's have not only a very strong free radical response, they appeared, in relatively small doses (maybe 10 berries per day) to clean up the damage caused by free radicals.

As said, I've only been told about BB's and infections but the cranberry one has been used across 40 years of partners.

Antibiotics can cause yeast infection to get suddenly worse as well because it kills off the good bacteria along with the bad - I think that's something the appendix is meant to be for - it is supposed to store a supply of the good bacteria to replace the normal load should something wipe them out.

What is around the house is not the same as what is inside yourself. using more natural rememdies might have a better chance than mediation that a lot of strains are resistant to drinking water with lemon juice, cranberry juice etc can help increasing garlic, cloves ginger marjoram and thyme and oregano will help with as they are also anti fungal, as for your body get washes that have tea tree, lemon oil, clary sage, juniper, rosemary and thyme oils in them or buy the oils and add them to your washes.

Speak to whoever is giving you your medication, grapefruit juice is known to boost the amount of medication your blood absorbs, if they say it is safe to take for example it wont start any problems with breathing heart etc then they may suggest you take some daily to help the medication do its job. As for the stuff about your house get a new diinfectant or sttart using combinations like bicarb vinegar and tea tree oil. Also adding some lavender and tea tree into your washing machine when doing your clothes could also help with it not causing more harm on the outside :)

I often worry I have some kind of disease like this, or at least like right now when I've been feeling unmotivated, lethargic sortof, the Bowel part for sure, and slight depression for the past week or so...can't seem to shake it..

Usually my opiates work for me, but I just filled my Rx 2 days ago and I still haven't felt too hot, usually i'll get my Rx and go hard for a few days, getting all kinds of activities accomplished...but not so much this time around..i feel a little better when I take them, but not like I used to.
Probably just tolerance creeping up on me or something, hopefully i'll awaken tomorrow all revitalized and shit....took it forgranted the last few times lol, but now I NEED my vitalization!

Here is a totally different take on this.. the thread and first few posts may not indicate this, but if you continue reading you will see what im talking about.

An article I wrote on help with withdrawal, inspired by the Thomas Recipe

They have all these diseases separated, but they often share so many symptoms. Chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, irritable bowel, some of the diseases thought to be autoimmune, psoriasis, sleep disorders, depression, Type 2 Bipolar, anxiety. People seem to have so many of these in different combinations.

When listed all together its difficult to see the commonality.. But its there.. Every one of these has clear and documented ties to the Hypothalamus and the pituitary it controls. Now I realize that this is not amazingly striking when we think about how many aspects the this area of the brain controls.

But i clearly controls

Sleep and wake cycles.. Sleep disorders and I believe that this may be a founding disorder. Or a disorder that often shows itself long before others show up. Sleep is very significant in brain regulation. Inadequate, improper, constantly disrupted, or constantly medicated sleep is not good and I believe prolonged instances of this can disrupt brain homeostasis.

Energy levels and fatigue... chronic fatigue syndrome and the severe fatigue that often accompanies illnesses like fibro and autoimmune cases like sarcoidosis.

Mood and emotions.. Depression, BIpolar two, anxiety.. etc. If you look at patients that have fibro a very significant number of them have previously treated mental health conditions like depression and anxiety. Many of these patients have been on chronic pharmaceutical treatments. I believe that the use of chronic pharmaceutical treatment for mild to moderate psychiatric conditions will go down as one of the "blood lettings" of the medicine practices of today.

First, most mild to moderate depression and anxiety is there for a reason. It there to motivate us figure out what and how we need to change our lives as we are not living a healthy one. It saying hey.. you need to address something and to motivate you to do this it makes us feel uncomfortable and unhappy. Many of the drugs used to "treat" depression and anxiety do not cure it.. the cure the alleviate the symptoms. The real issue is still there and needs to be addressed. If we step on a nail and then numb the foot, we may feel no pain, but the nail or the wound is still there unaddressed.

The brain likes its homeostasis and is an incredibly complex interwoven system. When a person takes medications, street drugs, or alcohol chronically I believe they run a significant risk or upsetting the natural balance in the brain. The more medications a person combines the more monkey wrenches are thrown into the system and the more likelihood of disrupting that system.

With the way physicians commonly mix, match, add, try, remove medications that significantly affect the brain there is bound to be significant disruption.

With my illness the more medications i tried to treat it the worse I got.

The hypothalamus controls hunger and the brain can cause vomiting.. This is also the source of a person's "gut feeling." To me this indicates it clearly has enough power over the Gut to be the source if irritable bowel syndrome.

The hypothalamus is also the pain center of the brain. Fibromyalgia is nerve pain. This type of nerve pain will be found to be brain generated. I look at it as mood pain. If one looks at pain as just a very strong localized emotion, then the concept of fibro being a form of pain presented in the forum of a mood does not seem to be that big a jump. A large portion of people who suffer from fibro have experienced significant traumatic events in their lives. Many of these people have also been placed on long term psychiatric medications to "treat" these events. The problem is that the drugs only treat the symptoms and do not really address the cause.

The brain does not like to be ignored. If we treat pain with pain killers it steadily ramps up the pain levels we experience. If anyone has ever stubbed their toe weak two of a methadone detox like I did 8o, or received an iv stick in opiate withdrawal this would be clearly obvious. Who is to say that one cause of fibro is the brain getting absolutely pissed that the issues it wants solved are not being addressed. So it say ok tough guy or woman, try and ignore this one.

The Hypothalamus also determines to some degree the bodies level of imunal response. It also controls the bodies temperature levels and this is significantly liked to imunal response with the fever.

Seems to be linked enough to be a possible cause of some of the diseases thought to be autoimmune.

I had many of the "separate diseases" listed above. After doctors failed on an epic scale to be able to help me I researched the hell outa so many things.

The conclusion I came to was that its was all caused by one thing, well two things, but all of the above I deemed to be from one cause.

Some sort of Pan hypothalamic dysregulation. I dropped all the medications I was one and asked to be placed on lamictal due to its ability to stabilize the functions of the Hypothalamus and ritalin to increase levels of dopamine and noradrenaline.

I combined this with exercise, non aerobic and long lasting at first in an attempt to increase production of important neurotransmitters, without causing the release of ones like noradrenalin which comes with more strenuous exercise.

With as good and natural sleep as I could possibly manage.

My theory would be that your steady use of alcohol probably has disrupted your sleep for quite awhile now and also may have specifically disrupted the balance of chemicals in your brain. This Is what I would guess is causing many of your symptoms.

Opiates are not the best option. If you want to continue down the medication path for treatment you should explore the use of methadone as it has a great chance of seeming like a miracle drug. It definitely has its drawbacks as well.. not the least of which its kinda like running through the sun to get off of.

Two other things I would certainly have checked would be to request a blood test for both vitamin D levels and you testosterone levels.

Another posibility is your having an imune reaction to the matter thats growing in your house. Do your symtoms get better when you travel?

Or it could just be what you believe it to be which is an imune reaction to the condition you have. Were you tested for other stds after the woman?

Hope this helps and you figure this out. Im now rolling about three years symptom and medication free and I was so fucking ill for five years It was awful.
