Help... are suboxone and kpins a good withdrawal kit?

Perhaps some reassurance that you're there to help him and that you want to be a resource will help him be honest with you.

You have no idea how many patients were treated in the ER when I worked from suboxone/benzo combo. It was advised to never mix the two., due to CNS.

It's positive your husband is taking a step to wean but as someone said, you have to understand addiction, and how the brain chemistry changes after being an addict.

Is it the suboxone/nax dose? If so, you need to learn how it's supposed to block your opiate receptors, so if he keeps redosing, he isn't going to get high. Plus , if he tries to take another substance and doses high, it's a dangerous mirage of thinking "I'm not feeling shit, dope is weak, need to keep redosing).

He really needs to research suboxone, and understand how it works. And I suggest you go to a support group and learn about addiction. It will take some time before his body and brain adjust to non drug seeking behaviors and cravings.

FYI there have been documented cases of toxicity/death with suboxone, so make sure he isn't taking massive amounts.

Yeah, i think that's the only reason he told me in the first place... I asked him to let me help him and he was still pretending like nothing was wrong. I got pissed off one day and told him about himself, and asked if he would give me a chance to help him because he's used to people abandoning him... and he opened up a little, not 100% but a little bit.

Hello, yes it was the sub/nax dose... and his last sub was yesterday it was half of the 8mg strip. He wanted more but we couldn't get anymore. I need to find a support group for family of loved ones who are addicts. Any suggestions for websites that have a list of groups? Thanks again for all the help everyone... i will keep you all posted with progress.

Al Anon has groups pretty much everywhere and is a fantastic support system for families of alcoholics and addicts. You can also attend any NA meetings that are considered "open" and get some firsthand insight from addicts. Check the NA and Al Anon websites for any meetings in your area.
