Gibberings CLXXXI - Is it Christmas yet?

re employment: I've never had a job and was on a break (pun not intended) from education for a couple months due to psychotic depression, but I'm going back on Wednesday, so I can be one of the deserving poor again.

Thank you very much! I'd love to collab with you some time. I finally live on my own in the spring, so I could get to t'North p easily. I have a Scotland-wide concession card, so getting to the border on w coach would be free, then I could get a cheap train or another coach. Alternatively, we could collab online - do you have soundcloud? my current laptop is too old to work with soundcloud but I'm getting a new one soon :)
I have a very lovely good friend in Scotland but I usually do online collabs. And yup I have a soundcloud! I'll PM you it :)

Two jobs?

So you took up the escorting after all then? I remember you mentioning the possibility. ;)
Yep, one office hours and a little one for evenings/weekends. Seemed like a good idea at the time.. plus I can't imagine the escorting will be hard work anyway. :p

Pfft, you're kidding me.. I spent the last 6 months "unemployed" (not claiming or owt, had no intention of working so wouldn't do that..) and it was fucking brilliant. Possibly this is because I had money and kept myself busy with festivals/travels/hobbies and my volunteering lark, though.

I've now got 2 jobs for a few months and can't wait for them to be over already.. but I am looking forward to being able to afford rent and stuff. :/

If you could tolerate shop work, most of them don't advertise so it's worth popping in and asking if they're recruiting, and dropping off your CV. (And phone some agencies but they're usually cunts..)

wow you dont hang around do you? 8o Two jobs already, you've done well. Yeah i think i could tolerate retail work, thats where im going to deliver today's cvs.

I applied to two journalism jobs recently - tech journo, which im really passionate about, and fashion journo, which isn't really my thing but I could do it - and never got a reply about either. they did say experience not necessary, but I guess they went ahead and hired someone with experience. that or my CV is scruffy. :/

You're by no means the only one, y'know? ;)

Can somebody please phone work and pretend to be my wife going into labour or something? There's no way I can hack another week of this. :(

yeah i know! things got a bit worse towards the end of the night, i had a hot bath which was soo nice my body was tingling all over and i felt like the pill rushes from previous night came back, plus i still had the phet in my system so it seemed to come back but in a more relaxed body buzz kinda way it felt so nice!

but then it got worse when i got into bed and decided to have a spliff to help me sleep but it just span my brain out and i kept hearing noises in my head that kept coming and going but sometimes lasting for ages. it sound like a bicycle wheel being spun over and over, i thought it was outside at first so kept checking the window but nothing. so i covered my ears and could still hear it so i knew it was in my head but it was stopping me sleeping so had to play music in the end which took my mind off it. then stated getting stupid paranoid thoughts of people being undercover cops that i work with etc haha

i knew it was the drugs doing it (weed more than anything) so i wasn't panicking but it was just hard to stop my mind from thinking these thoughts. i can honestly say i have never had that before i'm quite headstrong but i knew it was the weed because i never get it with anything else. in the end i had a 2mg etiz pill and within half hour the noise in my head stopped and my mind calmed and i was out like a light. :)

kota: journalism must be hard to get paid for, what with the endless stream of bloggers out there, and unpaid internerships galore.

i think theres always an opening for war or nature journalism, though both can be rough and dangerous (different leveles though)

wish i could be an escort. id be class too, none of that drivein business.

Yes - my family is full of former journos who think it's a rich person's nepotism-job these days, as run-of-the-mill-quality "content writers" are dirt cheap. My actual career goal is pharmaceutical R&D - indeed, my interest in psychopharmacology as an early teen was what got me interested in altered states of mind beyond my scripted benzos - but I'm an okay writer, so I thought I'd try that as a sideline whilst I'm still studying. I missed two years of high school (SZA sucks), so I'm currently by far the oldest person at my high school. It's embarrassing to be around all of my friends in college or uni and not be able to join in their convos because I'm stuck studying for Highers! :( Life in the state of nature is ...

I actually clicked on that link, but something about it screamed 'CREATED BY INTERNET DATE RAPIST', so I had to stop. :(

Also, every woman in Manchester under 45 with an IQ above 80 aspires to be a journo. If that's a reflection of the rest of the country then it's no surprise.

Sorry, women of Manchester, but you know it's true.

I said what to you in 2011 at the Roadhouse? Oh, I'm awfully sorry.

created by chinese pop group actually. Don't know where you get the internet date rapist thing from.

Yeah, journalism has become to the reasonably educated peeps like hairdressing is for the rest. :( The good days for writers are over.

If you actually attempt anything like 'good writing', the workshops will knock it out of you, and if they don't, then an editor will.

I just stick to rewriting salacious accounts of my more reckless days for the benefit of a few friends who 'enjoy' reading them.

You could start an investigative journalism blog, bring back the COOK REPORT

I used to be very into investigative journalism. I volunteered for WikiLeaks back in the day. I left when it hit me how opaque and obfuscated and un-transparent they were themselves. Assange is a douche.
