Photos of Walgreens robber released

Surveillance photos of Tuesday’s gunpoint robbery at a north Spokane Walgreens have been released.

The photos show a young man in a blue and white hat walking into the pharmacy at 2105 E. Wellesley Ave. about 5:02 p.m.

Police say that man pointed a black handgun at an employee and left with bottles of the powerful prescription painkiller OxyContin.

The man in the photos had black hair and black goatee and wore dark pants, white tennis shoes and a dark, unzipped jacket.

The company that makes OxyContin, Purdue Pharma, is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (509) 327-5111 or submit tips online at www.crimestoppersinlandnorthwest.org.

Police anticipate the photos - which show the accused robber’s face clearly - will lead to a quick arrest, said Lt. Dave McGovern.

Tips poured in following the June 7 robbery at the South Hill Walgreens, leading to the arrest of a 23-year-old suspect last week.

and lol at purdue knowing his junkie scum friends will only need $1000 to turn their friend in.. lol

It's a tragedy more than anything. I have a feeling if addicts were treated like patients rather than criminals, people would be more willing to submit to treatment rather than throw years of their lives away for a meager handful of pills. Even if you get away with a DrugStoreCowboy, how long are a few bottles of OxyContin/Morphine/Dilaudid going to last you? 2 weeks? 3? What then? A RiteAid in my old town used to get knocked over a few times a year for OxyContin and Vicodin. No ones ever been caught.

I also live in that area.

For a while it seemed like every day in the paper it was another Pharmacy Robbery.

Whats crazy for all you outsiders that one of the original suspects robbed a different Rite Aid every month around the same time. By a LONG shot police decided to have police at every rite aid in the city hoping to get lucky. The first night of the stakeout, he walked into a riteaid about 1 mile from my home, and was busted as he turned over the note.

He was a college student, who just go hooked beyond belief.
Since then I believe there has been 7 robberies in 6 months.

It most likely coincides with town 20 miles away where a doctor is facing 9 counts or some shit for over-prescribing, fraud. "You just tell him your on Oxy, or in real bad pain and you walk out with 120 80mg OC + Roxi 30's for "breakthrough". His pills were making down to Washington State university, which is about 90 miles away. Small but AMAZING place to go to college. As soon as him and his P.A were arrested, the supply dried up over the entire REIGON (thats how much he was giving out) and these robberies are now a result. I happen to know a few of the delivery boys back in the day (neighbors in college). Amazing how they would tell me about this Dr.

Amazing thing, he didn't get busted until some girl overdosed. What he was doing was wrong, but know your limit, dont take more than you KNOW you can handle, don't be a fucking idiot about. Like anything dangerous, don't do it if u dont know what to do.

I'm sorry I just hate Dr's, or other health care providers aressted for deaths of other people who took the drug on their own free will. She was an adult, it's her responsibility.

ONE MORE POINT (I apologize). His very very liberal Rx'ng helped ALOT of patients who didn't abuse their medication; one's requiring very high doses of opiates.

Were already on the way to Socializm, so now the government will be able to really get between a Dr.-Patient relationship. I love how lawyers decide if a doctor is prescribing too much. Because they went to med sch......no wait, they didn't. GET THE FUCK OUT OF DECISIONS BETWEEN A DR AND A PATIENT.
Fraud is one thing, but "over-prescribing" decided by lawyers while people suffer.
I really hope these scumbags break their legs, and have to spend their lives in excruciating pain, then have some doctor look at them directly in the eye and say, sorry sir that just seem's a little high of dosage. Here is 5/500 hydros one weeks worth for your shattered legs. It's almost a fantasy of mine to see KARMA work it's action.

Im not an evil person, but I have seen people personally suffer because they can't get pain relief. If they bring it up, (ding ding ding), "drug seeker" goes in the file, and that's it for them.

I know robbery is a crime - and wrong. But in some way, the system has brought about these robberies upon itself. Drugs should be available to people over the counter with information packets and non-optional short education perhaps when they first start purchasing a new drug.

Why should a person in terrible chronic pain be held a prisoner of torture because the piece of shit present US government is going against it's original intent(liberty, freedom) and illegally banning substances(where in the constitution, or original intent of the founders, is this actually allowed for?) from people that need or want them.

So what that some people will abuse the meds. That's their problem. Just because a few idiots (there will always be idiots) OD. Alcohol is as or more dangerous, and that's a non-controlled substance. What sense does that make?

No mask or ANYTHING? He must have been incredibly desperate... Many things in this world are very SAD and this is one. I just hope he gets the help he obviously needs. I know... its a hard addiction to kick but people do it everyday.

Not that a junkie doing a robbery is planning ahead but a masked armed robbery carries a longer sentence than a plain armed robbery, maybe that's why. Still stupid though, I would have disguised myself as well as I could.

Damn how much time did you do?

At the Walgreens in my hood (middle of dallas) some crazy fuck car jacked a guy was stopping by at midnight to get candy. Dude jumps in the car. Demands money. Pushes the guy out. Drives off with his car and crashes it right outside the parking lot. A valet cop-in-training from across the street runs over and pins the guy down, placing him under citizens arrest.
The guys said: "I smoked some crack earlier today".

Damn you got lucky. That's not much time considering. Man I would love to hear your story like how you planned the robbery, why you did it, what happened afterward. If you don't mind talking about it. I would never have the balls to actually go through with a robbery like that. Find the whole thing fascinating though.

What he was doing was wrong...

He was doing nothing wrong, anyone should be allowed to buy any drug they want. He should be honored for helping people be free. Fuck them fascist violent crime and overdose inducing prohibiton laws.

Let's hear your full story edpidermis!!!
