Im curious if anyone on here has ever experienced anything like this? I never have, but I have had some very strange/ frightening dreams, which at the time, when I woke up, I somehow knew it was some kind of 'hell' or similar place.

I also had a friend die for about 7-8 minutes, he was clinically dead, he said he saw and spoke to something he was sure was satan, I asked him if it could have been a dream or distant memory, but he reminded me he was dead...and he knew he was dead...apparently satan had the body of a man and head of an Opposum, he was trying to get my friend to follow him, he said they were in some kind of bar or club.

Now, this friend of mine was not the best person, he was a drunk who dabbled in pills, cheated on his new wife on a daily basis, was into some other less than good things as well. After this happened, he was a changed person, he said he could not get that image out of his head (satan), and he felt he had to change.

The last I heard, he was still on the straight track.

This has made me wonder and worry about this for years, I know Ive never done anything really bad, but I still do things and have done things that are not good, I never harmed anyone, but I have done other things, not to mention my raging H addiction! Plus, I used to live with this girlfriend when I was around 18 yrs old, there was something in her house, we all saw it once or twice, I saw it as a greyish-transparent 'ball' bouncing around the stairwell, I could clearly see it, it was NOTHING I could explain, (I was completely straight at the time too), my GF saw a taller black figure here and there, skinny, but could never see its face, so this tells me there is definitely more going on than we realize, or understand in this world.

I have to believe there is likely something after this life though, but not entirely sure its what we are taught (heaven, hell)

It really depends on your belief system. Is there life after death? ....no one knows because no one has ever come back to tell about it. I choose to believe in Heaven and Hell, and believe that we spend eternity in one or the other. I made my choice 18 years ago. I don't live a perfect life by any means but I still believe I will be in a "good" place when I die. I'm not going into detail about this because I want to respect others beliefs and not sound like I am trying to be superior to anyone who doesn't think and believe what I do.

Good question by the way.

I kinda used to think like this too, but now Im not sure, I mean, what we are taught and believe in, MAY not be true at all, I have watched interviews of people who have had NDes, some experience good things and some see a very bad place...I know they were actually dead, but they came back too, so they probably didnt get to see the real deal either. I just want to know for sure what happens, but I guess this is impossible, since death is a very individual thing.

This next part may be too graphic for some...

I watched an interview online with this younger guy who was riding around with his best friend one night, they were drinking and smoking pot, apparently they were not good kids, went from one girl to another, drank, stole, etc. they ended up getting in a bad wreck with a dump truck and they both died.the one that was on the video obviously only had a NDE, but was brought back by doctors..he DID die though for a few minutes...he said immediately after they hit the truck, the both of them 'woke up' in some rocky place, filled with smoky mist, they saw what they called 'dinosaur-human looking things' literally tearing people to pieces, blood and guts, etc, (younger kids were here too he said), they stood there until one of these things saw them, it came over and grabbed both of them by the hair and started dragging them away, the kid in the video was in tears here, he said it grabbed him so hard, he vomited, but then he woke up in the hospital, his friend died for good, did not make it, and he said he wakes up every day knowing his best friend was still in that place and would be forever.

If heaven and hell, like we think of them, do exist, then its fair to say that demons and angels probably do exist too...that scares me very bad, as I know I will never change, Ive almost accepted it, but still DREAD the day I wake up in such a place, my drug addiction will seem like childs play then!

Well the hallucinations post-death or whilst being clinically dead can most likely just be explained by same arrangement of hormones in the body and perceiving that. The perception of Time in those realms differ too - you know, like how just '1 second of a dream' can transmit lots of information.

I'd say it's related to the individual and their past (emotional) experiences, social upbringing, and moral convictions. You know it's like, a-lot of people can have those 'transcendental' sensation of connection with the universe on psychedelics, but others may experience a more existential trip - set of the user is a massive factor.

Oh, that's a crazy story... Though the kid with NDE would never be able to confirm whether the other kid who died was experiencing what he was. Who knows, though?

Fizzymk, I think the same thing; If there are angels there HAVE to be demons, and I BELIEVE this.

I may be wrong but I am an "old dog" (58) and I will die believing this. And I do not expect everyone to believe as I do, and again, I have no problem with that. The wonderful thing about humans is our ability to reason which allows us to believe as we want to believe. And this is what drives us in any type of spiritual life we may or may not have. So I will end with that. Again OP, good question.

Don't know why that little emoticon came up when I typed my age but it should read 58.

Figured it out but I left it as is. Had to do with the parentheses not having been spaced. You do learn something new everyday!!
