What are your summer activities

Oh haha I got really excited cause I thought I might see you in an MMA octagon on tv one of these days :D

I have been so addicted to bikram yoga. I actually plan to go again tomorrow after work. It's just that my Tuesdays and Thursdays will not be complete without it.

I'm becoming fond of the dancer's pose, chair pose and warrior 2 poses.

What's the differences between the yoga types :)

I've been interested in taking it up, for quiet some time now and I always say this LOL but now that I'm actually full of free time and don't do much, I was thinking of going to the yoga class hosted at the gym I go to, except something tells me it won't be as "cool" or anything specific like a yoga class at an actual yoga place? I know they have the type where you do it in HEAT and get all sweaty, not the kind I'm looking for haha, but there's also a type that's more for toning the muscles and increasing flexibility? Or is that probably all types I'm not sure...

My first 3 weeks of summer (in June) was spent in the county jail cause life kicked me in the ass and forced me to sober up and smarten up... which I do not regret... now I read all day and practice Forex (used to love it and stopped) again... Working out almost daily has been really great too along with eating a lot hehe! And I plan to buy a new basketball cause I love to ball and it's been so damn long.

Need to start: some serious MEDITATION! One reason (and why I was looking into yoga) was for "cleansing" and focusing on opening the chakras, I wonder if anyone here strives for that or has achieved a higher state of consciousness through it?

Hatha is the one most commonly practiced in America. It is vigorous and very physical.

Bikram and Ashtanga are branches of Hatha.

Iyengar is therapeutic. B.K.S. Iyengar has the best writing on yoga imo and is a requisite for any aspirant.

Kundalini is also fairly common. Not particularly physical. More so based in pranayama.

I practice Ashtanga.

Notw that any branch of yoga will, with dedication, help lead you on the spiritual path. See what speaks to you. I like Iyengar, pretty much ignore Kundalini, and love Ashtanga. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

kayaking! I cant get enough of it. I really want to buy my own, looking into it. Its sooo nice to be on the water. Its definitely one of my favorite exercises.

I think I should go paddle boarding too since my friend has gone and enjoyed it!!. Perhaps next month.

My summer activities include heading to the beach a couple times (yeah.... probably only once or twice lol).

Although we are going to Florida in summer so that will be like a week on the beach.

I honestly don't like heat (I don't like cold weather either, I like the one month we have here for spring and fall) So I really don't go outside much during the daytime (but I love summer nights!). I'm super white so I get sunburned easily plus I get heat stroke ridiculously quickly.

So far this summer all i've done outdoors is work in the yard at school ( taking a carpentry course) and dirtbiking pretty much every weekend which I actually find to be greatly therapeutic and it just gives you a feeling of being free and without worries that's much different from that which you get from certain substances
