Hello, I have been abusing pain meds for the past 7 years. At first I was able to take some for "fun" and not have to have them everyday. When I moved back home I started getting them from my mom and she pointed me to her doc. Since that day I have not gone 1 day without some type of drug. At first I would run thru my 2 week supply of 60 lortab 7.5 and either buy more off the street or take suboxone until I could get my refill. For the past 2 years the lortab lost the desired effect and I was introduced to roxis..30mg or 15 is what I was buying and snorting on a daily basis. Just recently I began mixing cocaine with the roxis and when I would run out I was getting very emotional and depressed. That's when I decided enough is enough..after running thru 50 ROXI 15's in a little over 5 days I took half a sub on wed at 12..nothing since..I haven't been really sick or anything yet just NO energy whatsoever and feeling very depressed..I want to get back to my old self bc I have a beautiful wife and 2 little girls ..is the wd going to get worse before it gets better? I feel so shitty already and hate just laying around watching the girls play and not working !! Any advise??

also should I take another half of a sub?? I have a few left but haven't touched them

I would not take another sub unless you need to. If you take another sub you will feal better for a bit and then have to go through this all over again. I would just try and accept that you are going to feal a little off for a bit. It will get better in a short time.

You may start to go into heavier withdrawal soon. The half life of the bupe in subs is very long. People who are detoxing subs generally don't go into withdrawals until sometime on day three. This is not guaranteed but seems likely.

So you are detoxing off a 150 mg a day oxy habit. How much time did you let elapse, from the last dose of oxy, till you took the sub?

medications for acute opiate detox

The medications I would explore the use of for detox would be:
>Clonidine< DOSED EVER FOUR HOURS..

one of either
>NEURONTIN< >HERE< >HERE<
OR >Lyrica<
OR >phenibut<

>A BENZO BUT JUST AT NIGHT<
>a nsaid<
>melatonin<
tylenol
Senokot S is a stool softener and laxative. If you do not want the laxative you can go for strait stool softenerDioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate.

(Opi Withdrawal) what is the best comfort meds for opiate w/d?

Your Personal Opiate Withdrawal Arsenal

You will do this..:)

Pretty much what NSA said.
Try to avoid taking the Suboxone if you can. It just prolongs the inevitable. I would still take Suboxone withdrawals from a short Sub taper over acute heroin withdrawals any day of the week, but it's still reallyyy uncomfortable and painful. The truth is there's no easy way to do this. You're going to feel pain and discomfort no matter what you decide to do, so ultimately you just have to do what feels right for you.

The other meds mentioned above will all help a lot if you can get them. Laying around on the couch isn't doing you any favors either, you need to get up and move. Seems paradoxical considering the way you feel, but exercise is legit the ONLY thing I have found that brings any real, lasting relief for most of the symptoms. And it will jump start your recovery too. Win-win.

Good luck :) I'm on day three too, it sucks for sure but hang in there. You got this <3

Thanks, I have not taken anything yet and don't believe I will...I did my last ROXI Tuesday night around 9 and the sub wed at 12..so 15 hrs....and only 4 mg..so will I be wd'ing from opiates or the sub??

P.s. Been at the pool for the past couple of hours but now am completely wiped out!!:(

No unfortunately nerontin is not.. If you are looking for something that is over the counter you may wish to try loporimide. It's actually a strong opaite, but its just gets flushed very quickly once it crosses the Blood Brain barrier.

If you take it you can end up switching to a physical dependence of that. But many people take that and then tapper off of it as its easier to tapper because it does not get you "high."

The two medications is the subs both have a larger affinity for the opiate receptors than the oxy, so whatever was left was knocked off when the subs came on board. So you will be doing an opiate withdrawals that takes longer but is not as drastic because the half life of bupe is so long.

Loperamide (Immodium) Megathread v. 2

Thanks for the info, will keep posting. I have some Imodium at the house..should I take a certain amount?

In my experience subs lengthened the withdrawal. What goes up must come down-- and with subs, this is true with a vengeance.
Youve gone through a lot-- I know you are tired now but it will get better. I went through a nine day withdrawal, which would have been 72 hours had I not tried to take subs to make it better at one point. It is day 13 now and I am sick as hell with bad cold symptoms, running fevers, but Ill take this to withdrawaling ever again.
You can do this. Think of those beautiful little girls. Keep strong, man.

Also, with the immodium I would take as little as you have to be really as much as you need to feel better. I took 16+ mg a day-- one every 4 hours.

I'm on day 5 now and still feeling tired and foggy..RLS last night was aweful!! Swam laps for an hour at the gym. That's the best I've felt since wed..thanks for all replies

Keep at it your doing great.. you should be slipping out of the acutes soon.. so you may want to take a peak at what PAWS are and create a plan to deal with any of this if it comes. Exercise will likely be a major weapon to help prevent and deal with this.. its aslo great against addiction.

Voluntary physical activity and exercise training can favorably influence brain plasticity by facilitating neurogenerative, neuroadaptive, and neuroprotective processes

Man I am blown away by the people and support on here...I want to say thank you for listening and lending a helping hand to someone you've never met. Thanks for the info on PAWS..Ive noticed already how much more emotional I have been in the past few days..listening to the pastor at church today was very inspiring and I was fighting back tears the whole time. I remember going to church the pay 5 years and felt like he was talking to me everytime bc he would always talk about addiction to alcohol, pills ect.. Anyways going back to the gym to swim again tomorrow if I ever get to bed...RLS is a bitch!!!

Whatever god you either do or don't pray to send them a prayer because you came off lucky there. I'm 3 weeks out from no bupe and I'm still in acutes.

Also, well done. Keep pushing on because you're definitely through the worst of it with short acters like you have been using.

Now is the time you have to work out what changes you are going to make to make sure you don't end up back where you were.

...believe me that will power can evaporate in seconds if you don't put the right action in.

I'm able to get out and do stuff but I still feel sluggish and now feeling anxiety and a little depressed...I'm on day 6 but it feels like 6 years....3 weeks?!?!?! Damn I did get off easy. I'll shoot one up for you too!

Thanks=D

Tbf it's my own fault, I came off a large dose.

I hope you are felling better today..it's noon here in good Alabama and the wife and I are headed to the gym..still feel super sluggish and half dead but the only time I feel normal is when I'm swimming in that lap pool! Crazy

Today is day 11..still feel lousy, no energy and just overall unhappy... How long will this last???!!!

Its different for everyone.. but for allot of people it get just a sliver better each and every day. So it may be hard for people to see much of a difference from one day to another, but can recognize positive changes over the weeks.

So you will get better and better, but just slightly. each day.. this will lead to you feeling better and better over the weeks.. then often close to six or seven months the opiate receptors finally shut down and we have the second miracle happen.. most symptoms of paws disappear, our minds often clear to a degree that its ,like going from driving a scooter to a race car, we can finally sleep.. etc etc..

Your doing great. nothing back there but the places you already fought through.. it does get better and it doesn't take all that long.. change the way you are thinking if you wan't to be more peaceful and experience more happiness.. keep going your dong great:D
