Ive actually watched the last 3 world cups somewhat faithfully. Ever since zidane got kicked out for the headbutt and france lost on pks when trezegut (however you spell that) missed and he was the guy who replaced zidane who was uber pk taker
then the US beat algeria I thnk in 2010 and I guess people wanted to make a big deal out of it like we beat Algeria bro, not sure why you would even get hyped up over that
Honestly, most americans probably watch more of the world cup than youd think, we just dont really care about the outcome
and I feel like europeans care more about their own league than the world cup anyway
Need to promote soccer in the US. The World Cup is only a few months away and no one has anything to say about it.
I'm challenging all of S&G to brush up on the qualified national teams/players so we can have some good discussion when the time comes.
My early picks to go deep are Germany, Spain, France, England, Portugal, and of course Brazil.
Teams who keep the ball well are going to do brilliantly because of the climate. Spain will of course be very strong again, chasing them around the pitch for 90 mins trying to get the ball of them is going to be tough on the players.

This. I do however hope Brazil take the title. Would at least be some emotional compensation for those Brazilians that haven't benefitted from the tournament being held in their country in any way. As for NL, I hope we make it through the group phase but all will probably hinge on the game against Chile. Looking forward to the tournament nonetheless!
Edit: Just watched that vid, those Real Madrid kids are proper fans alright :D
I'm usually super excited for the World Cup but this time I'm not. It doesn't help that a lot of the good players are out this time due to injury. I don't even know what team(s) to root for this time.
