I don't like sandals, I'm funny with feet. It's like an anti foot fetish. I don't like shoes where you can see your toes, the top of the foot is acceptable just about but not preferred. I always wear Vans and Converse in summer :P

Yeah i dont really wear sandals. Just a trainer wearing lout!

Y'know, i hear many many people give it the whole "Yucky feet are yuck" but when it gets down to the hot and sticky, feet become just another utensil of love (wtf :?8(=D)

Without anyone jumping down my throat why has bluelight become black because of this person? Had they been a member/founder of Bluelight?
Not criticising or trying to be funny I'm just curious and so asking.

Shambles - how are you?

Using a search Engine can be a useful thing. I dont think anyone here wants to describe who Sasha Shulgin is in a few words.

Apart from Shambles

Oh I use a search engine. I also like to engage in conversation to.
Asking questions is a way of engaging in conversation / discussion.

Evey you're soooo fucking annoying!

hahahahaha thanks for informing me of your opinion of me. Will sleep better knowing that :D

If your sight is good enough to read bluelight its good enough to read google.... Jus sayin'

WOW never knew you were a consultant? Have you a clue what the hell you're talking about???
Visual impairment is not just about "seeing information" it's about being tired after reading so much - the same as someone who has difficulty walking may be able to walk 100 metre, doesn't mean they won't be utterly exhausted afterwards. Kindly don't comment on something you know nothing about. I've dealt with that type of ignorance my whole life.

Because Sasha Shulgin is the single most important person in the history of recreational drug use. Everything that exists as far as the hippy generation, counterculture, rave generation, music of all sorts worth listening to... literally all of it relates back to the Shulgins in some way. Okay, not quite all of it but the vast majority. Instead of asking us here - who have no chance of summing it up in a post or few - research the man and his work and all will become clear. I've linked you to the beginner's guide documentary twice already - I'll make it thrice cos he is that important. Spare 80mins of your life and learn a thing or few <3

Dirty Pictures - The Life & Work of Dr Alex "Sasha" Shulgin <-- That there is a link to a documentary which will tell you as much as you need to know to see why BL is black as a result of his death. If you can't be bothered to watch it there's precious little point in continuing this discussion. The world we live in is as it is because he was who he is. It's hard to imagine a more important figure in world history - not even drug history but actual world history. He changed things like few other people did. He is the Gandhi, the Martin Luther King of psychedelia. It's a somewhat disjointed reference but not a million miles out - that important and even to those who have never heard of him or what he did.

Thanks Shambles for answering my question. I will look at that.

It's lovely that some people can be adult about things. Like I said it's a forum, people are going to ask questions.
If they didn't and we all used Google, there'd be no point in Bluelight, harm reduction information etc.

Who's Martin Luther King?

Sorry...

hahahahaha it's nice to see someone having a joke :D hope you're doing ok, Curious?

It's incredible.

Not only do you have the wonders of Google and countless other search engines at your disposal and loads of info on Sasha across bluelight for those who have some strange aversion to search engines, there is also a thread on Shulgin two or three lines below the link to gibberings in EADD.

Incredible.

In Evey's defence, I believe she subscribes to certain threads and then accesses them through her control panel. She won't see new threads until she ventures into the standard forum view.

Evey, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Below the link to Gibberings? I only really access my subscribed threads... unless I go on NMI to greet the newbies or Recovery Support to try and give some people support. All my threads that I am active in are in my subscriptions list. I only really look in other sub-forums like EADD if I'm bored, so I wasn't aware there was such a thread.

Incredible.

In future I'm keeping my mouth shut and not going to ask any questions I never expected this big a drama over it. My goodness!

Thanks you, Curious.... I was just arguing this point... yes, that's right. And I appreciate the support there.

Hehe. I did say it was a somewhat disjointed link. Indulge more in his fine, fine creations and you might get what I was meaning.. or you might not. Either way you'd get more of something worth having ;)

In all seriousness, who could you compare such a person to? Timmy Leary and the DMT Bros and that other mushroom chap... yes and no. Shulgin affected people way beyond the psychedlicised hippy bubble. Folk who have never heard of the man live their lives entwined with what he did. That doesn't apply to the other "psychedelic heroes". His effect ran deeper. Changed more and in more subversive ways. Anyone can pop a pill... not all would ever consider going the acidic, shroomy or - even worse - Elvish routes. He opened a subtle pathway that has drawn in more than anybody else. Truly changed all of society and for the better. Gandhi and MLK are not such bad comparisons - albeit for very different reasons.

yes but she was asking why bluelight had gone black because of him, which an answer you cant really find on google and best answered by someone who knows of him on this site.

No need at all for such a contemptuous attitude to someone who was just asking politely...

... Incredible...

If you can read it here you can read it on google, where does the additional exertion come from? If its so tiring for you to read, why do you visit forums? There is quite a lot of reading involved... You don't catch many blokes that can't walk 100m down the running track, do you?

Even though there's good reason to think otherwise, a small part of me thinks that she's at it. So I'm going to call it the now just in case I'm right.

At it.

It's been called before, and it's a good call, but this place is dead enough as it is to cry foul about makebelieving.
