There are/were two though, no? Kinda like Take That and... whoever those other ones were. They come in packs. I lose track and cos I only ever really see the odd guest appearance when they try to do Never Mind the Buzzcocks or whatever I really never get a chance to know who is who or which is which. I know one of these people does a backflip. On every show he is on. Always. Beyond that I know nowt. Certainly wouldn't know a tune (assuming they do tunes rather than just backflips on demand).

^ Agreed.. I quite enjoy being blissfully unaware of a lot of pop culture bollocks. I can see the perks of becoming a hermit.

And my parents want to drag me to the pub when I'm quite happy with my laptop in bed. (Hermit in training.)

Yeah, I tend to look backwards for my musical tastes.

I don't usually listen to anything current. What's decent just seems to filter down to me eventually... I'd rather not have to expose myself to all that pop culture bollocks as you put it.

I look backwards... forwards... youtube is brilliant for digging for tunes... lots of brilliant new stuff around if time is spent lookng.. i spend too much time digging around youtube for tunes but fuckit i love music

That's a big attraction on the net finding things to research. Little projects and tangents of interest. Whether it's music or documentaries or on wiki reading about someone with an interesting story from the past. It's infinite really the tangents you could be looking forever !

These days I tend to just look at the line-ups for festivals I'm going to.. there's usually lots of decent music to discover that way.

Truthquoted. I have no truck with looking backwards alone for music. Yes there has been some incredible music made over the years - hunt that shit down with a passion - but don't be blinded to the new stuff which is equally as good. Becoming locked into backwards-looking alone for music is the first sign of true old age I'd say. Plenty of time for that later. New stuff gets better all the time <3

Afaik means 'as far as I know' Evey :) Can't help you with the AIM thing though, never used it myself. I was an MSN girl and was devastated when it closed down :(

As for One Direction, put it this way - if I walk into a shop and they are playing One Direction, I turn around and walk back out again. Unfortunately though I have to put up with a lot of shit music due to the fact that I love clubbing - and clubs that play Slipknot are few and far between.

My uni room is actually quite nice - wants to be for 5k a year, but still no sink - no en suite either, they're like another grand more. Our halls are some of the most expensive in the country I think, strange when you consider that the midlands isn't a particularly pricy area (at least not compared to Surrey, where I usually live :P).

I'm pretty much the same. I actively seek out old music but only really hear new stuff when someone tells me to listen to it.

Friendly shamble will return later <3 - Wait what :D

Bear hugs <3

Dont worry shamby is snappy after his binge, aint you shambollocks

Nup. I've been drinking all afternoon and evening - always does make me snappy. Peev binging simply makes me very, very tired. I don't even post here when recovering from peev binging. Don't have the energy. Certainly don't have the energy to be snappy. You're thinking of serotonin depletion. That makes folk snappy. Dopamine depletion just makes 'em dead to the world for a while.

I said nowt about looking backwards. Always on the lookout for new tunes.

Certain streaming / podcast places do the trick for me. Rinse FM has some good shows if you leave it on long enough to sort the wheat from the chaff (Swamp 81 and the Hessle Audio shows are a Thursday highlight).

Also, Fact is pretty reliable for finding out about good stuff, both old and new. Their list of the best albums of the eighties had some blinders amongst the list I wouldn't have heard about otherwise:

Fact - The 100 best albums of the 1980s/

Their other lists are pretty eye-opening too.

Dunno.. depends on the person... speed binges make me irritable as fuck...doperminey... serotonin depletion makes me kinda empty

MDPV - for the love of fluffy kittens, do not use.

I'm only interested in opiates lol other things like stim or hacination drugs or whatever don't really interest me.

Love nice opi haze where can close the curtains n all is well with the world n it feels ace being alone.....

MSN closed down????? Oh, is that why my password never works... I should install the app on my laptop, when did that happen???
