Assuming a website doesn't allow repeated brite-force password tries, it's more secure than a random 8 character string that you'll forget.Two random words separated by a punctuation mark. The search space is at least 10 000 * 10 * 10 000 = 1 000 000 000 possible passwords.
I always heard a combination of a word, punctuation mark & number was the most secure.
