Spag bol. Made with lamb mince and with a nob or two attached. Not to the lamb. Not at mincing stage anyway. I hope.

Was asked to expand upon my new (to me) "flavour enhancement" technique so shall do so. Fried onions really gently for ages adding bacon, some rather pricey mini sweet red peppers, green and red pickled Jalapenos and garlic then added mince and let that fry slowly for a goodly while. Next added assorted spices and (sadly in this case dried - although would be too soon to add if otherwise) herbs along with a squirt of tomato purée and let that fry down gently for even longer. The tomato purée should just catch on the pan as the sugars caramelise. The herbs and spices like it too. Don't burn any of it. Next added a good slosh of a decent red wine and a tin of chopped tomatoes (which also happened to have added herbs) and left to simmer for a bit til thickened to suitable degree.

Was the next bit I fukked up. Cooked linguini (cos pack was open and is spaghetti by another name - as if pasta form makes that much difference) and added spoonfuls of sauce and stirred in. Then left it to settle on the backburner whilst garlic bread toasted. Downfall being switching off the wrong burner hence singing the whole lot. Still tasted great but will taste better day after tomorrow (Easter dins at parents tomorrow itself) cos still got most of the sauce in a separate pan.

Thus endeth the lesson.

I like spag bal but I just buy the jar, mince n spaghetti n do it that way with cheese. My lil' one likes it, anyways so it's ok. Would like to taste yourze tho

^ Must admit it was good even when burnt but am expecting big things come Monday cos will have had time to settle and marinade for a couple days too by then which always improves such things.

(leftover sauce didn't get burnt so is pristine and hopefully as good as it smells... actually it is as good as it smells cos obviously i've tasted it to check)

I often use jars too - just happened to have most of the ingredients to hand and bought the odd bit I didn't have at the shop earlier. Wouldn't normally have most of those things just lying around but just so happened I did so took advantage. Good to treat yourself now and then :)

Lawdy. Talk about drunken munchies. Stopped drinking a while back but munchies became too much so indulged a lil. Actually indulged quite a lot :o

Indulgence consisted of strawberry and white chocolate muffin, Galaxy muffin (reduced cos out of date - wouldn't normally bother cos really not that special... but cheap and not half bad at that price) with custard. Muffins heated in microwave for bonus scrumminess. Also a couple of Thornton's caramels tossed into custard when heated for extrabonus yum. You may well ask what I'm doing with Thornton's chocs lying around the place but also bought cheap (30p a bag) leftover from Valentine's (they're lil caramel <3s). Used to be deadly for snackstuffs but much better since I got a veritable shitload in stock. Got a cupboard bulging with mostly crisps and savouries I barely touch now and a big bag of various chocs and sweets I touch even less. Damnably fine to have them to hand sometimes though =D

Shit I feel good right now. Garlic ham sandwich with salad and a couple beers and green tea.
my stomach is about to explode.

think i broke my own record for eating. 7 hours in a freaking row. prolongued barbecue with the family and friends. im about to burst from all the meat
all gloriously seasoned and woderfully grilled! ahhhh mmm i could use a couple of more cakes...

More of the above-mentioned bolognesey sauce wiv differently-shaped pasta (twirls tonight) and some extra garlicky garlic bread (which tasted fairly standard garlicky to me but who am I to argue with the packaging?). Really is bloody good bolognese is that. Can't really stretch to such extravagance every time but now and then it's well worth it.

It might be a bit of a mouthful, but I've always felt that if one is inclined to spend good money on good drugs, one might also be wise to spend good money on good food to consume on good drugs! Good food is even more important for those of us who use good drugs that kill appetite!

One doesn't tend to have enough good money for quite so many goodnesses unfortunately. Tends to be a one or t'other situation generally. I'm eating better this week for a combination of reasons - mostly a mixture of pure chance/luck (what is on offer or reduced) combined with reasonably extensive stock cupboard built up slowly over a number of years combined with not spending money on good drugs cos I need it for summat else that's gonna cost more than I usually spend on anything but will be worth the expense. As a concept though, I completely agree.

I can't believe no-one acknowledged/appreciated this! Bluelight, hang your heads in shame. Shambles, you are officially promoted to "Head of Puns". Maxalfie is now on garden leave.
I'm ashamed that I didn't even notice that..

Yep, definitely agree. Which is why I had a rather superb experience with a gourmet cheesecake and LSD on Saturday. Drugs and food. <3

Had breaded chickeny bits which were much better than expected for dins. Packet mix (yes, a packet of seasoned breadcrumbs, no I didn't pay for them (MamaSham bought a shitload off the interwebz and I inherited a few packs)). Maggi brand and apparently BBQ flavour. Whatever it is letters taste of. Taste mostly of paprika to me which is just dandy. Had the nicest mash I've had in ages wiv 'em. Cheese, (spring) onion, garlic and herb. Bloody lovely so it was <3

Just had pud consisting of warmed cherry bakewell muffins (muffins + cherry bakewell <3) wiv custard and the lil Galaxy egg we all got given for Easter. Like a Cadbury's Creme Egg only Galaxy and wiv choc caramel instead of... yellow and white stuff inside. Choc egg melted into custard just a bit but not completely. If yer gonna have pud make it suitably indulgent - really no point playing at a pud (as opposed to pulling it which is entirely reasonable and acceptable albeit less tasty (possibly as gooey)). Pud <3

Made some crispy chili chicken in a hot n sour sauce

Hiya Bogman [waves] - just logged on tonight,

For Dinner, I ate nothing but a whole heart. That's right.

Many people have told me I have a good heart. Well here it is:

I'm not a cold hearted person mind.... so I grilled it for about 15 minutes and it looked like this:

Tasted alright. A bit like liver, but a bit blander...

And now I'm a heartless man.

Yeah the internal organs can be tasty(I have no problem eating them) but if you feel the thought of eating them may make you feel uncomfortable don't eat them!

I used to love chicken hearts, I'd eat one now if it was here. Chicken livers too. Chickens feet, neck. Hell in Africa, nothing goes to waste!

Where do giblets go these days, eh? They ain't in my chicken! Must some giant giblets storage depot in East London somewhere.

And where's my bacon rind? I want the bacon rind back on my fucking bacon Goddamit!

Chicken livers are really tasty - chicken liver Pate. Never had that in ages (prepare for liver pate photos :D)
