I'm going to expand on these at a later date since I'm kind of busy at the moment. I think this will make for a very interesting thread.

1. Ecstasy
2. An 'Anarcho-Capitalism' podcast
3. My lovely ex-girlfriend.
4. Two people I met from here SgtSadanko and Evad.

I will expand on all these tomorrow.

Love & Peace <3

I'm an occasional lurker here, never post; but I'd be interested to hear how the anarcho-capitalism podcast changed your life. I find it to be a completely barmy political ideology (imo, of course). As it changed your life, I'm guessing you're an anarcho-capitalist? I personally feel the events of the last decade show that the 'free market' will never self regulate in a way as to be beneficial to humankid and the idea of private businesses running the justice system is terrifying. It's my "gun is bigger than yours" politics, or at least that's how I've always seen it, so I would genuinely really like to hear someone argue in favour of it because I've only ever heard the opposite. It's my view that anarchism and capitalism are completely incompatible; you can't be an anarchist if you're advocating private property and a laissez-faire attitude to capital that Margaret Thatcher would find 'a bit much'.

I'm not an anarcho-capitalist. It laid the ground work for me becoming an anarcho-communist. I'll explain in detail at a later date as I said I'm quite busy this evening (Morning :P ) but I couldn't resist clearing up the capitalist confusion.

Lisa Ann adopting me

Is there any chance we could keep this thread somewhat serious as I'm genuinely interested in what pivotal moments happened in other peoples lives and what I/we can take from them.

Ah... I did find it a little odd that number one on your list was ecstacy, followed by anarcho-capitalism :P

I shall make a point of checking in tomorrow to read your story, and put some thought into major things that changed my life so I can make an on topic contribution ;)

Yeah alright no problem... forgive me, will add to this thread another time, still pretty young for my life to have been changed much though anyway

Really don't want to sound corny, but Hardstyle changed my life. I remember diving into the world of hard electronic music back in late '08. Christmas that year felt magical, blasting Hardstyle & Hardcore tracks while it was snowing outside. Good times.

From that point on I began to appreciate music more, and life less. It was a bit of a mindfuck really, I don't know how to explain it. It triggered something in me temporarily. At times it felt almost spiritual, but maybe that was just my brain going wild from never getting enough sleep and being under constant stress, the music was such a release.

It also lead me to exploring psychoactives and I became really interested in all of that, and eventually ended up here. So it didn't really change me for the better tbh. :\

Stated Blue light's ambassador =D Same for me. Life changing-always the music. Life affirming in the shit storms of marriages, divorce, love.the only thing that is clearly reliable and life altering often...oh and better throw in there friendships, Fucking, shopping, acid loss, destruction, cocaine and MDMA just to be factually correct.<3

Breaking my fucking leg at 14, was a pretty decent footballer getting tryouts for clubs before that. But after my leg had healed couldn't even bring myself mentally to ever really play properly again without that nagging in back of my head that might break again. So ended up feeling pretty low in myself as a hole and started filling that void with various party drugs, slowly progressing untill the time I met ze fuckin' woman who changed my life forever, introducing me to gear :p<3.

1. The death of my cousin when I was 15. I don't want to be too morbid, but I count this event as being the time that my childhood ended. I was an almost annoyingly optimistic person before that.
2. Cannabis. Specifically the first time that I got really high, put my headphones on and got 'that' feeling from a song, I can still remember vividly how that made me feel.
3. Ecstasy, which I probably don't need to expand upon because a couple of others have already listed it.
4. Forming a band, because it's possibly my proudest achievement, and continues to give me incredible memories that most people will never have.
5. Becoming a father whilst still a teenager. Scared the shite out of me at the time, but was the best thing to happen to me, and arguably stopped me heading down the dark road into serious drug abuse. Again, I don't want to sound morbid but I don't think I'd be particuarly happy with where I am in life (22 now) if I hadn't had to grow up and start taking care of myself.

When I was a teenager my close mates were the folk I knew who were into hip hop & smoking weed, in my 20s it was techno & eckies. The people I kick about with have had more of an impact on my life than just about anything.
