Hi I'm new ! I'm desperate right now I take dexamfetimine 3x 5mg per day , I have been since june , the come down seems to be getting worse I cannot cope with the extreem depression and agitation at 2pm daily any more , does anyone else experience this ? Is there anything the consultant can do ? I see him in two weeks time , I take the drug for excessive sleepiness

well idk but I'll zoom this over to basic drug discussion and hope that you get the answer you need...

That's normal to experience depression on prescription Amphetamines. I had it for years when I took Adderall for ADD. It's called a come down. Get used to it because it won't go away unless you stop taking those drugs.

Stop taking prescription meds and switch to some high thc cannabis.

You know, it is perfectly safe just to stop taking dexamphetamine. You should try it out for a few days and recharge some of that good ole dopamine.

Cannabis can also carrie issues in chronic use as well. Although it sure as hell would beat using amphetamines daily. Also, its more complicated than just recharging dopamine.

OP quit taking amphetamines if its causing this much of an issue. It only gets worse if it's just now starting.

it definitely sounds like you need to take a break. if that isn't an option try telling your doctor and see if he can prescribe you some benzos or antidepressants, but they really wouldn't help in the long term. I would suggest you just take a break.

Break won't do it. If OP doesn't want to experience this anymore, they'll have to completely cut it out of their regimen for good. Also, recommending benzodiazepines is terrible advice, due to their dangerously physiological addiction. Benzodiazepines should only be used as last resort and for things such as panic, even then short-term is highly recommended.

I've been dependent on damn near everything except benzos, thankfully. I can definitely say for me, taking a break was the number one cure in every case. Abstinence is unnecessary, the brain heals relatively quickly. It's just like being sore after working out, take a break and the body heals. There's no reason the OP can't detox, and then use dexamphetamine PRN instead of on a regimen and get the normal maximum benefits from it. Just takes a bit of willingness. I just don't want to see the doctor up his dose to solve the problem.
