Vaporized vs. smoked cannabis on a psychological level

burn out said:
i hate trhe vaporizer high, it feels incomplete to me.

I feel the same way. Maybe it's just because my lightbulb isn't working rite but im pretty sure it is...

Smoking vap feels like a clean high, different from smoking it using a flame.

Smoking a vap is great for stim comedowns for me. A lot of my friends agree too. I don't know why but the high just feels so much better while your coming down. Vaps are a lot better than just smoking bud normally to come down.

Interestingly I find that the strain white widow gives me the same high that a vap does.

this girl smoke outta the vape, and was like "what did u guys put in this, i feel wierd" we told her she just smoked pcp...lol....so she started to call her friend to pick her up later bc she wasnt going to drive home..after like five minutes of playing with her, we told her it was just the vape and no pcp....lol....

all in all vape is wayyyy cool and fucks with people..lol

i really like vaporizing and wish i could afford one right now, but the main difference between the two is that a flame or fire is too hot for THC and actually breaks it down into a bunch of broken down forms of THC, when you vaporize you are keeping the THC molecule fully intact and i think this is what gives you a much more clean headed high, besides the fact that you aren't burning anything and your eliminating 100% of all carcinogens when vaporizing, and you also aren't momentarily depriving your brain of oxygen so you aren't killing any brain cells as well.... your weed goes further.... health risks completely eliminated... purest form of THC...and you still have weed to make brownies when your done... although it does take quite a bit more its well worth it... everyone should start vaporizing theres no reasons not to

agreed

I believe a fair portion of the effects you guys are describing are from:
1. the fight/flight adrenaline rush that is generated when you inhale a cloud of smoke @ 400 C. Burning the hell out of your lungs will certainly cause a a chain reaction in your brain saying "get the hell outta the fire!" and so...
2. Whilst high, you are also experiencing the crash from the adrenaline, which definitely interacts with the CBDs along with...
3. feeling more tired because your body is trying to recover from frying your lungs and mild oxygen deprivation to the brain (which also impacts a flavor to the other 2 effects).
That said, nothing beats a bong and doobie (or, as I learned this weekend, a downstream gasifier :))

~~~Yeah , this is the issue i have been having bad lately , with my hightened anxiety , ill find myself laying in bed spazzing out lol , but im getting a vape pen and believe this will resolve my issue, bc i never used to be paranoid like this , i quit smoking for about a year , then started again and had this paranoia issue. So vape pen might fix this for me. i tried a vaper before , and it had a minty taste i liked it.
With vaporization, you're likely getting sub-optimal vaporization of lesser cannabinoids, particularly CBD, which likely plays the greatest role in variation of psychological effects among strains of cannabis (other than raw potency) and has a boiling point significantly above THC's.
I've both smoked and vaporised extensively - my conclusion is that any differences in the high is largely psychosomatic.
I really doubt it. I've found that vaporising can make me MORE paranoid because I can dose at much higher rates than I can smoking. It doesn't matter how you do it, if you ingest large amounts of cannabis over extended periods then you will get a whole raft of negative side-effects. I recently had a complete breakdown after being holed up in my room vaping for a few months on end. The only appreciable difference (aside from the physical effect on the lungs) is that the same amount of bud lasts about twice as long - or to put it another way I'm getting twice as much oput of it so get twice as head-fucked from the same amount.
Sorry to pop your bubble but if you're having problems with pot then simply changing your ROA isn't going to make a squat of difference.
My vaporiser can operate at greater than 200C. I like to vape at that temp for this very reason - still doesn't really change the high, certainly doesn't reduce any of the psychological side-effects from heavy use.
Temperature isn't maintained uniformly for the entirety of the plant matter in the chamber, so more volatile compounds will still vaporize more readily. With combustion, the high temperature facilitates opulent vaporization (and partial combustion) of all the relevant compounds. But yeah, tweaking with the vaporization temperature can affect things.
Vaporised weed highs are different from directly comubsting the weed and inhaling, there is no argument about that.
I believe due to vaporiser not allowing all the cannabinoids to be, well vaporised.
Try smoking vaped weed and tell me if it doesn't get you high.
I use a Volcano and anything done at higher than 200C most definitely does not get you high. Mind you, I vape it to within an inch of its life. Even after you stop getting vapor, if you leave the hot air flowing for a few minutes it releases a foul tasting second-wind that can get you high as ferk.
Have you tried, smoking, vaped weed. Not cranking up the vaporiser. A lighter gets IIRC upto 1600-2000. I don't remember where I read this, but someone mentioned that combustable products synergise with some cannabinoids to change the high. It sounds like an absolute bullshit, made up myth and I love to look into the science of things and curious to know myself.
How about smoking resin, for your answer. Considering resin gets me high, i feel like vaping weed is a huge waste of bud. It's healthier but i don't really smoke pot to get healthy. I smoke it to get high, and the more i can get high, the better.
Well what do you know, it was this original thread that I found out combusted bud produces a different high and different actives (go up a fair few posts)
