Am I the only one who doesn't watch Breaking Bad? Granted I watch less than 10 minutes of TV a day, but when they used a very inefficient synthetic route and purported it to be able to produce the product they sold, I lost all interest.

Sad, nerdy tendencies and all that.

Without delving into spoilers, you just pointed out exactly why she is a sympathetic character to me, MDB.
I found sympathy for her character, and I especialy liked how she was developed. I still found her as annoying as fuck the whole way through though.

I had pretty much zero sympathy for Walt, but he was enthralling and entertaining as a character.

Loving House Of Fools with Vic Reeves & Bob Mortimer, reminds me of the type of stuff they came out with years ago.
Brilliant.

^ Yass! Finally another person who like House of Fools. It must be an auld geezer thing, Max :o

I agree with all of that.

If she didnt have such a whiney voice i dont think she'd piss me off as much

Watched a couple episodes of Sherlock, that is decent. gonna watch some more in a bit

I had pretty much zero sympathy for Walt,

even in series one when he was stricken with stage 3 cancer at age 50, and all his sickness and coughing blood and puking. And when he made the speech about how he felt furing the 'talking cushion' scene ? I was totally with him at that point and for his first few psycho actions that were indeed enthralling, as were all the other following ones.

spoilers

NSFW:
as shambles said it does follow the plot of Macbeth. Walt becomes increasingly mad, egotistitical and full of overweening pride and ruthless ambition. He wasnt meant to be a nice guy any more, i guess thats where the title comes from as he truly does break bad and he thrives on it.

I couldn't stand her either.

"YOU WILL GIVE US JESSIE'S MONEY. HE EARNED IT" type patter. Fuck off ya mad rat.

Anyone seen House of Cards yet? Brilliant series and Kevin Spacey IMO

I loved the original series from the 80s/90s. That reporter Maddie was really beatiful, and the chief whip was such a sinsiter and sly old fox. Really makes you wonder to what extent such series are based on reality. In the original series one of the MPs had an aout of control cocaine problem, i think he died in the toliets of a lille chef or some motorway service station. It was a very pwerfull TV series, really ranked amongst the best TV series ever.

Anyone know when The Walking Dead returns ? Ive searched my TV guide for the next fortnight and there is no sign of it yet. This mid season break is a bad idea, the whole idea should be to get people hooked and absorbed, throwing a 3 or 4 month break into the middle of a series runs counter to all of that :( :!

I don't really see the point of mid-season breaks either - can only assume it's summat to do with sponsors or advertisers as it has to be profit-friendly cos it ain't viewer-friendly :!

Best to just treat each semi-season as a whole season, I guess. From what I recall, the third season ended at a fairly natural break point and was basically self-contained anyway. Don't know why they even call them half-seasons actually. It's all a bit odd :?

In other TV watchings news, just watched Ancient Greece: The Greatest Show on Earth - 1. Democrats on iPlayer. Have always been interested in Ancient Greece and this looks to be a goodie. It examines a different aspect of Ancient Greek culture and society each week by showing how it interacted with Greek drama. Interesting and original concept for a history show and the first one was great. I'm not doing a very good job of making it sound like essential viewing but it's not at all as dry and irrelevant as it may sound. Western culture is so heavily influenced by Ancient Greek stuffs that it's interesting to see where things we take for granted originated from and how they've changed. Well worth a watch even if history isn't really your bag as the things being discussed are not just historical ephemera but timeless aspects of human nature and of existing Western culture.

Talking of mid season nonsense, anyone is the new walking dead back on sunday? Need to see if this babys been scoffed or not, suspensions killing me.

Only just realised that Beth as well who plays the 15 year old girl is actually 28, makes me slightly less guilty about what I was thinking would happen to her in them cells amid a zombie apocalypse. I always knew it though, secretly.
