Misc Heroin withdrawal-Subs, what am I doing wrong!?

Good to hear. Keep your eye on the prize. It gets easier.

Thanks so much! These words of encouragement are really helping. I just called my old Na sponsor and told her the deal and cried like a maniac on the phone and I'm meeting her at a meeting tonight to pick up a white keytag and start this fresh. Gonna share and get honest

Okay, so I went to the meeting last night and picked up yet another white key tag (Ive got a drawer full..:!) and shared about whats been going on. Then today I woke up feeling kinda ok! I don't want to say "good and jinx it, but man, I am feeling a lot better than I thought I would. I am also super proud that I have been taking VERY minimal sub. I really feel like I have a shot at getting thru the physical part this time. I went to another meeting tonight and I spilled my guts and got hella real. Some crying was involved, along with some cursing, but damn it felt good to release it all. After the meeting a lady who I thought hated me, came up to me and had a folded piece of paper in her hand and gave me a hug and handed it to me and said it was her #. When I got out to my car I unfolded it, and it read "Dear <my name,> I would be happy to listen if you need someone to talk to. <her name, phone #>" Then at the bottom she wrote "I believe in you." And put a smiley face. I don't know if it's just because I am emotional due to detox or what, but it really touched me. I have been going to NA for 4 years and that was probably one of the nicest acts of kindness I have been shown.

Just thought I would share that. I am now laying in bed and about to get some rest. I was able to get another script (legally ) of k-pins, so those have been instrumental in helping stave off the cravings and aches, and helping me get some shut eye.

I seriously cannot thank you guys enough for all you have done. Goodnight my Bluelight family, talk to you tomorrow <3

From what I understand the key to effective Bupe use is waiting for "clear and objective signs of withdrawal to become apparent". The brain is a fascinating organ and I find subjective w/d sets in very rapidly with me when I know withdrawal is coming. And I even convince myself that what I'm feeling are objective signs. The key to objectivity I guess is having someone observe your demeanor and taking your vitals regularly (I suppose you could take your own vitals if you had a BP and pulse reader).

Keep up this war of attrition. "If you're going through hell, keep going" and "this too shall pass" - have been helpful quotes to me in times of desperation.

Just my 2 cents, hope it helps.

.

That's why the COWS scale is so effective in gauging when it's time to take bupe. It accounts for a lot of variables in withdrawal, like certain people not getting certain symptoms, and getting specific ones more intensely. etc. But, you have to be honest with yourself when scoring it.
