I agree befort.. most people focus on the acutes but the hard part is the paws.

Why We Don’t Get Better Immediately: Post-acute Withdrawal Syndrome (PAWS)
Post Acute Withdrawal (PAW) Excerpted From “Staying Sober” By: Terence T. Gorski
Post-acute-withdrawal syndrome Wiki

The paws lasted about a year for me, I detoxed methadone, oxy, and xanax at the same time. I would recomend people to come up with a recovery plan that allows them to live as peaceful a life as possible. As belfort said exercise is amazing, changing your thinking and no judging anything as good or bad, keeping ones thoughts in today, are some of the strongest things I used in battling my addiction and the resultant PAWS.

Here is a new thread that centers around exercise that you may want to join in Exercise 4 Health, Mental Health, and Addiction vs. I worked all that out

It gets better keep at it.

I'm like 54 day's clean, I'm still miserable, only sleeping 4 hr at a time tops, this sucks, but its gota get better, right!!??, I've tried everything to try to sleep, (trazadone., clonidine, ambian, and smoking good medical marijuana,) nothing work's, the klonipin worked well to get me thru the acute wd's, but stopped taking it after about 3weeks, so I wouldn't get addicted to it, I'm working between 3 to 5 days! A weeks, and its killing me, I come home and I hurt so bad,, I had no idea about paws unit about week 3 and it sucks, the only thing I'm taking on a regular basis is lyrica, I tried not taking it for about a week but my sciatica was out of control so I went and filled my script, 150mg x2 a day,

Melatonin might help. I have never tried it myself.

I am sleeping a lot and I hate it - I prefer being awake. I am getting insane dreams, not quite nightmares, not quite enjoyable, just bizarre and intense. Seems like I am gettin rebound REM - bupe reduces REM sleep.

Ah... You're the first person I've heard say they're having too much sleep. Not sure what you can do apart from maybe drink more coffee? Anyone else have any suggestions???

Ive been off heroin for about 6 weeks and suboxone for about 4. I was using suboxone about 3or 4 days a week with heroin in between for a couple years, sometimes just suboxone, but the longest I was able to go was 2 weeks sub only, without heroin. I havnt had terrible withdrawl, but I am tired all the time. I can sit down and ill fall asleep. Way to go guys on quiting, i hope I can make it as long as you guys.

captian,,,how are you getting to much sleep? what are you taking to make you sleepy, last night was the most sleep ive had since i stoped taking kalonipin after my first 12 days of acute wd's ,i feel asleep on the couch for two hours ,woke up for about 30 minutes, then went to bed and got about 4 1/2hrs, so abou 6 1/2hrs,my first 12 days,my wife was feeding me kalonipin like skittles,so i slept 90% of it,i stopped them because i didnt wanna get dependent on them,

Can I just point out that there is a difference between addiction n dependence. I would do research on this. If i would give some links but Ive no time as I have to send an assignment in before 4 pm or i fail. Yes you prolonged the WDs but you didn't necessarily replace one addiction for another. Please stop being hard on yourself. You did what you thought was right at the time n that's ok.
I'm on 12 mg of sub well done to those who quit.

Evey xxxx

This is about dependence, physical dependence.

I don't like caffeine. I have had insomnia and hypersonic during my withdrawal. It was sick. Like I am thinking of going in for a sleep study if my sleep doesn't stop fluctuating like rapid cycle bipolar style.

I sleep a lot naturally at times. I have been hitting the bottle (don't follow in my footsteps) but I also use wax (medicinal - would help for sleep); but I am not advocating drug usage.

I also am cycling through 2 to 3 days of no sleep and 1 to 2 days of all sleep.

I haven't even bought doxylamine (antihistamine).

By next month I should be back on Xanax.

i went to new dr he put me on valium 10mg at night (i have to take 2 to be able to sleep), also still on lyrica 120mgx2 daily, still no bupe!!!!!!! and i feel beter every day that goes by ,other than i have sever anxiety
