Getting off methadone use and a previous 1yr bupe addiction - wut to expect???

Day 9: Little or no RLS. However there is a problem with insomnia, not much but by some mystery I do not sleep more than 3 to 5 hrs. I sure hope this will let up soon.

Problem #2: The runs; for how much and how long can I take the loperamide? I have been taking just 1 tab, which has provided some or very light relief. It is crucial that I can continue taking it since we are about to enter a tropical environment (and a +6hrs timezone).

Day 12: Uh, testo/hormone levels coming back. Its both good n bad, b/c I get easily agitated. I have done 30min i the gym for a few excersizes, but I aint the same guy I once was. Another thing is that OTC meds down here are codeine and tramadol. I bought the tramadol thinking it would alleviate my head ache and slight lethargy, but after researching the net it seems like the tramadol only would prolong my symptoms. Especially them damn goosebumps and sneezing I get all the time! Oh well, back to the paracet n ibuprof combo again. FYI, Im off the clonidine since many days ago and the GABAs since yesterday - they cause more side effects than they do good, at least so it seems at this point. And PS, my chewing tobacco is making me feel F*** up'ed, it seems like the body is telling me to quit that too LOL. Tho, we'll see... PS2: Dont have any significant probs with the runs here, yet, after a lil research, loperamide can be taken undefinately so it seems. Chances of getting hooked on them are almost non-existent. I took 4mg before flight yesterday, which seems to have done the trick...

Great job celsior! Thanks for the updates :) Hormone levels are certainly affected...I'm a female, but I remember when I got off opiates all I wanted was sex! It was overwhelming lol.

Tramadol (and codeine) will certainly prolong your symptoms, so good on you for realizing that and stopping.

As for the chewing tobacco, 1 battle at a time, but once you get out of this successfully you'll feel like you can accomplish anything =D Loperamide will help if you have diarrhea for sure.

Again, you're doing great!!<3

Very nice work celsior:).. I am glad you are feeling better.<3 Have you taken a minute to give yourself the credit you deserve=D I think you have made the right decision in getting off the clonidine and GABA since they should be discontinued, like you stated, as soon as they are no longer needed.

I also went on testosterone replacement therapy after a T test came back with almost none existent levels following my detox and received really positive things from this medication.

Chances of getting hooked on them are almost non-existent.
Well it may be really hard to develop a physical dependence form taking lope it is quite easy to maintain an already developed physical dependence to opiates by continuing to take lope. I would just slowly taper off the lope. This is a quite common occurrence when people use it to detox of their opiate of choice.. but most people dont have as much trouble tapering as they did their opiate. Just one more little step to be free from having to take a substance, but really when ever you are ready.

I had a patch of sun burn frozen goosebumps that sailed around my body for around four months and other syptoms like sneezing and watery eyes as well. Once the opiate receptors finally calm down and are retracted back into the cell walls this will go away. You may also experiences PAWS symptoms now or if you decide to tapper the lope. This thread contains some good information on this.

Again congratulations and I wish you a strong and peaceful recovery!!

Day 13: Oboyo should I have listened and taken it more easy in the gym. Calfs n thighs taking up water, growing, aching - I can barely walk! Like I did 300Lbs deadlift sessions. I took 25Lbs deadlifts lol, n warmed up with just bodyweight i.e gravity/air, and this is the result! If this wont let up by tomorrow I dunno what to do. I was hoping for some major endorphine release, uhm, which never came. Luckily and funny enough my shoulders and tri-/biceps didnt end up like this cuz I did do a few benchpresses and flies with the same dumbells.

I would throw the lope away if I were at home but in this environment, gosh. Im not goin around with tummy aches and being, you know, really loose.

Reward myself, hmmm. I am glad I quit, thats all I need to know. This wasnt ever going to be easy. But thanks for saying it! It means a lot.

Abt PAWS, I am thinking as long as I am busy I think Ill survive. One step at a time :) Ill keep fighting!
