Oklahoma has its own unique number 211 which will direct you to a free therapist and emergancy detention workers

Similar to dialing 911 a person having a mental crisis be it from just feeling down to a full suicide attempt can call 211

This service is 100% UN-AUTOMATED. And FREE

You will be taken to their general help desk where they will ask what your issue is and you will be forwarded to a free councillor.

If you are deterermined to be ED(emergancy detention) they will send a unit to get you.

Do you mind telling us your location? In my state, 211 gets you the Health and Human Services Commission. They only deal with the administrative aspects of Medicaid, food stamps, etc.

I understand your intentions and commend you for posting this thread. However it is useless for most people because everyone on here lives in a different place and the phone numbers to the respective local resources are different. If you posted a general geographic location of where exactly one can call 211 while in a crisis, maybe other BLers in that area would benefit from having this telephone number.

It does work anywhere in Oklahoma however.
