Depends on where it is, I would meet up.

Meet some folks about 5 years ago from blue light before I even was a member here.

I believe I meet shambles (although he can't recall me) =D

Birmingham is NOT central to the UK my dear raas_2012. It is central to England and Wales. Kendal is central to the UK.

I think in terms of travelling times, Manchester is more central than Birmingham. But I know certain places are at least a day away no matter where you start from, like Norwich.
 
Cool. If we could try doing it on a Saturday the train tickets will be a lot cheaper than if we met up on a Friday.
 
I've visited Kendal, when going to the Lakes.

Well if you feel you can handle fresh air and want Kendal, we may as well go to the lake district.

EDIT - I suggested B'ham coz it's so easy to get too, Motorways leading to it in every direction. A small town like Kendal may be a little trickier to reach by car/train
 
I don't particularly want to go to Kendal. I've been to Kendal. There's not a lot going on.

But a Lake District meetup is probably quite a nice idea. Or a Peak District meetup.

I like walking and I like fresh air.
 
Mmmmm... think we need some other peoples thoughts. I'm thinking a piss-up in B'ham, Manchester or Leeds for ease of access to the majority of the forum.

or Lakes for fresh air, camp fires, baked beans, bonding and saving the Scottish amongst us some miles.

As long as it doesn't clash with some sort of epic clubnight that I refuse to miss (which if you're around Manc, you're welcome to tag along!), I'm a yes. Would be good to get a decent-sized group organised though.

Aye, i agree that Manchester is more central to the whole of the UK, its like 3 hours away from virtually all parts of England, except the furthest flung corners, Wales is only an hour or so away, Scotland does seem so far away though, i remember when i lived in mid wales and was at uni in sunderland what a fucking long journey that was, i keep saying i wanna revisit the scottish highlands and the extreme north, but it just seems so far away.

I do keep forgetting we are a tiny island in world terms, we can barely be seen compared to russia, china, australia, the usa etc, Alaska alone has 35,000 square miles of desolate glaciers and icy territory, the scale is just mind boggling.

Oh and a manchester meet up would probably mean id have all of 15 minutes to travel. I would imagine i could probably manage that.

brimz im sure a guy of your street cred wont have no problems here, fuckin hell even a clueless druggie from the sticks of wales like me has survived here, in a rough part of town, you just have to trust your instincts and keep your eyes peeled like any city or even small towns can be dangerous. I know you live in big grand beatufull posh Bath, but that must have its crime problems too ?
