Hiya knock, the old mod stick hey
I didn't know this situation been away for a while as you know so I shouldn't comment on a ban I know nothing about really.
It's just me I hate rules and systems as they are designed for good reasons and to protect people but on an individual experience, which is nothing to do with this site, I have found every single system whether lawful or moral is never fair or just for everyone and exclusion from a community as punishment is only served as to make the community feel better about themselves.
Unfortunately the excluded person is driven further and further until they really do something that could of been prevented.
For example some people spend their whole life scared of the wider community and happier in the safety of institutions. For them the institution is the only family they have.
In prison for example you hear of prisoners being let out for good behaviour.
Why would someone behave if they felt safer in prison rather than outside?
So would that person then break rules to stay in?
If released break rules to be jailed again?
Lots of questions and lots of different answers but I feel strongly about any community, club, clique, clan, society, country or any group that believes that rules, laws or any system of regulation can serve and protect the many by focusing on the ones who have never and will not be able to fit in.
In my experience when someone leaves a community by dying, choice, exclusion, peer pressure(external or internal) or whatever the community is at fault and the system they have in place will never look after everyone until they except the worst things in themselves rather than focusing on the worst in others.
This would allow even the very worst exceptance and therefore they might start to show the very best of themselves.
Just a thought, why I don't like bans and punishments and rules in general :/
