Hello,

My name is Tom Jenner. I’m a producer for National Geographic’s documentary series, Drugs Inc. I’m making an episode about New York and I’m interested in stories of MDMA use and dealing in and around the city.

I’m posting on the forum as I’d like to hear from anyone who can help me with my research.

To learn more about Drugs Inc you can go onto the National Geographic homepage.

If you’re not already familiar with the show, we are now in our 6th series and past episodes can be found on the site and YouTube.

The documentary takes a 360 degree approach to exploring drugs in particular cities. We film with people who use drugs; both recreational users and users who have developed dependencies, harm reduction, law-enforcement, traffickers, dealers, and medics.

Through this approach the shows aim to understand how the drug world functions in a particular city: Who controls it; which drugs are most prevalent; why people become involved; the dangers of the street; what law enforcement is doing and approaches in harm reduction. In no way do our programs glamorize drug use or the drug trade. We treat everyone we film with dignity and try to give a balanced representation of the issues.

If you would like to get in touch please email me at [email protected] (I apologize in advance to Bluelight moderators if giving out email addresses breaks forum rules and I'm happy to re-edit this message accordingly)

Many thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

I thought you guy's already did at least one drug inc on NY
Is this one to focus more on mdma or something cause I remember the last one being mostly about heroin

You guy's need to do one on a mid size city like Cincinnati kind of like the way you did Nashville last season
Cincinnati would blow that Nashville show out of the water

Cinci has a drug scene like no other

I concur Bill, I have some stories of MDMA use and dealing in and around the city of Cincinnati I wouldn't mind sharing if Nat Geo ever came to the area. Actually I have stories for just about any drug in Cincinnati & Cincy metro. =D

IMO drop the theatrics and tell the facts like they are, your show would get a LOT more credit around here.

I'm not sure where the theatrics actually originate, the producers or the dealers. :\

Lol Im in nashville now and the country boys running the 'green belt' is complete rubbish. It is like they listened to one meth heads vision of the drug trade in nashville and turned it into a cool story. The truth is we get drugs from all around the country and entrepreneurs take it upon themselves to distribute them. But while having great fiscally conservative policies here they have all the garbage social conservative policies to go along. Instead of having government to perform consumer protectionist duties they funnel all the money to police to harass the general public along with criminals daily. In short it is a police state

Why in the fuck would someone who really ran shit contact the media or even let a camera near them. Also you would think they would keep a low profile.

Nobody thought Big Meech and BMF was anything but a record label. Those people still run the coke game. You got some guys call you up and act tought with guns and you think they some sort of kingpins.

What is worse is the portrayal of the addicts. You guys find the dumbest ones you can find. People have real problems with drugs, maybe talk about helping them?

Please, for the love of god, try to produce something non-sensationalised for once.

The documentary takes a 360 degree approach to exploring drugs in particular cities. We film with people who use drugs; both recreational users and users who have developed dependencies, harm reduction, law-enforcement, traffickers, dealers, and medics.

Can't disagree with this. Most documentaries start talking about the bad, toss a bit of alternative perspective, before rotating all the way around to the usual conclusion of 'drugs are bad.'

So you're going to actually do a documentary about methylone?

Does the "Methylone is shit an MDMA is better" argument have to be brought into every discussion on ED?

Get new material. That shit was way past boring quite some time ago.

I'm sure the decision to do one on New York and mdma had nothing to do with the electric zoo deaths....I'm pretty sure this whole episode is going to scaremonger parents into hating these baby killing raves
