Opioids Trouble Peeing on Opiates: Urinary retention issues Q&A Megathread

Nope, its just from the relaxation of all of your muscles that opiates cause. It also applies to Organs as well, as they are muscles themselves.

Try and do a lesser dose. That will help big time. Also make a point to always take a leak before you take your next dose, as it's much easier with less in your system. This side effect goes away the more your body gets used to the opiates, unfortunately the downside to that means you are strung out.. ha.
 
Trouble urinating

My drug of choice is opiates. The nodding off, relaxed fantastic feeling I get from them is something I just can't compare to anything else and in my opinion a feeling that just cannot be beat. I have always had a problem with them though, after taking them I have two problems, I cannot pee and I cannot cum during sex. The not being able to pee is the most annoying thing for me, I hate the feeling of needing to pee and not being able to! I have tried a few things to counteract this problem such as turning the sink on while trying to pee and running my hand under the faucet which occasionally works on lesser doses. For times when I get more high it can take me getting into the shower to try to pee and that still only works sometimes, so my questions are for you blue lighters is does anyone else have this problem, if so what are your personal solutions? How do you get through this negative side effects of the amazing opiate drugs?
 
Stop drinking water 1 hour before you take the drugs. Are you on any other drug? Antidepressants can have this side effect.
 
No I only take oxycodone, the problem I have with stopping one hour before I take it is that oxycodone makes my mouth very dry and drinking prevents that from happening. I guess I just gotta choose which one I would rather put up with. Thank you I'll give it a try!
 
Seeing this thread made me laugh! Only because less than 5 minutes I was having the same problem, which is having trouble peeing after a do a damn opiate.

The things you listen were IN ORDER the exact same things I do. There are a few extra tricks I have and things worth pointing out.

1. Run the faucet. If you REALLY feel like it's not helping then turn it off. Sometimes it's the psychosomatic part of hearing the faucet that makes me think "ok the faucet is on so technically im supposed to start peeing.... ok... still not peeing.. why am i not peeing?" and I feel like its the stress of it that gives me a harder time!

2. Be in a stress free environment. If someone in your house is sitting a few feet from the bathroom door and you suspect hes listening to you and wondering
"why hasnt he peed yet? i dont hear any pee? hes been in there for awhile" makes it really hard for me to pee man..

3. I just started trying this today.. I'm not really sure why? I think its just my intuition telling me to be as strange as possible hoping somehow it will help me with my peeing. I would take my balls and put them over the sink and stand there pressing (ya know, pressing, trying to pee) and I would run warm water and with one hand cup some of the warm water up and shower the warm water over my balls. This would usually help me pee right away.

I have both of those exact problems whilst on opiates. Sometimes I'd sit on the toilet for 30 minutes trying to pee. Putting your hand under running water may help, this might sound weird but try rubbing water on your vag, sometimes that enables me to pee. For the sex thing, opies really make me lose my libido, so I don't know what to tell you. My fiance as well as lots of other male and female users I've met have also had this problem, kinda just gotta accept it if your gonna make the choice to do opiates.
 
Don't do opiates if you're gonna have sex. And I recall a couple years ago, hot water on my penis would make me pee spontaneously. Now that my penis isn't as sensitive as it was, hot water barely does anything lol.
 
It's my biggest problem with opiates. I have a fairly low tolerance but that is thru years of moderate usage and lots of t breaks. Even with my low tolerance, when doing heroin or oxymorphone ( the strongest two opiates I use) I never get bad itches or nausea or anything. Only a complete lack of the ability to piss. I have gotten kind of used to it and if I know I'm gonna be getting blasted on some opiate ( read: smoking a 20 of good tar, or sniffing 1-2 10mg opana ir) I just have to make sure to piss beforehand and then not drink too much water or beer whilst high. It's so odd tho I had friends who would puke their guts out at the same dose as me, but they would be less high and still could pee with a little effort.
 
I have had this problem also. before my neck surgery they were going to put a catheter in and i begged them not to so they didn't. when i came to i had to piss so badly it hurt and due to the opiate base anesthesia i couldn't for a few hours. all the nurses were laughing at me and saying "don't you wish you had that tube in right now" . Fuckers.

Anyway the only thing I have found that works a little is to sit and piss. someone told me about taking the pressure off of your prostate. IDK but it works some.
 
All Opiates and Opioids make it almost impossible for me to pee too. I sit in the shower and run warm water to help. It still takes 15mns most of the time.

Even a small dose of Hydrocodone will let me screw like a porn star. My wife likes it unless I have my drug of choice, IV Dilaudid. After a shot of that, it is almost impossible for me to get off and she gets worn out.
 
^thats funny, but I will admit it gets the best of me, too. Especially if I know someone can hear me pissing, for some reason I can't do it. If I do its like 2 minutes until I can even start, then it takes another 30 secs to reach a strong stream, and on top of that there are intermittent breaks , i.e. not a steady stream whatsoever.

The worst is my work BR where everyone can hear and there is often a bunch of people out there. Not to mention I go in there to break up lines a lot, so people must think I take like three #2's a day or something, since I am in there for at least 3 minutes and longer if I gotta piss.

Sitting definitely helps. I found that when I was standing at the toilet trying to piss I had to focus on my leg muscles a bit which took away from being able to focus on peeing, so that's another reason it's better to sit.
 
generally just wait until you absolutely, positively, have to take a piss or its goin down your pants

that helps
 
Back when I was on my highest MMT dose half the time I pissed it might take me a while to start, and I would occasionally start and stop. It was like my cock was too relaxed. Had problems jazzing sometimes too, for the same reason I think, my dose was just too high. Oddly enough was never constipated.

On Bupe however I don't have trouble pissing, as it doesn't really relax me, but it constipates me worse than any high grade opiate I've ever come across, which I find super annoying.
 
Haha I forgot about this gem of a time.

I haven't done opiates in awhile. Not by choice :\




But oh the JOYS of not being able to piss!
I have one kidney so this was a particularly terrible side effect...
