Bastard. You're making me crave the taste of hops now. I've been on shandy and chocolate milk since last weekend too.

There's nowt like a heavily-hopped beer after a dreary week.

Woll Smoth says 'Hoppy Frodoy'.

Spent most of the day sitting at the pool practicing my Thai and drinking beer.

Got a bit sunburnt.

Then went for a stroll round the park. Was going to jog but that would just be madness.

Picked up some moo ping (grilled pork on a stick) and ate it with a load of salad and veggies.

Now it's torrential rain and if it stays on all night I doubt I will be venturing out.

If it goes off....who fucking knows but there will be beer involved.

Out tomorrow for sure!c

^ Bangkok is a crazy place - too busy for me and you seem to just get swept up in the crowd. I was staying around Pathum Wan, Bangkok 10330 (Kempinski hotel) area which was a great location for sampling the place but I only stayed a few days as had been in Samui for a few weeks prior.

I love the way the train stations turn into markets at night - the food was amazing.

I live around Victory Monument BTS area (well a 10 minute walk) and at rush hour times the streets get so stupidly crowded with people that you sometimes cannot move.

I was hungover last weekend and got caught in a crowd that couldn't move because of the sheer amount of people and all the markets and vendors that clog the streets. I thought I was going to freak out and have a massive panic attack.

Then I went to get on the Skytrain and the queues were insane for change and tickets (both of which I needed) so I retreated to the nearest bar and drank beer for 2hrs till it calmed down and tried again.

When it's not rush hour it's fine. Morning and evening can be hellish in certain areas though for both cars and people.

Gotta love the Skytrain though. Traffic? What traffic just fly over the top of it and get around the city in minutes instead of hours.

Food is epic and I've discovered a whole ton of new stuff I never knew before. Haven't eaten a Thai curry once since I've been back and that was my staple last time ended up being sick to the stomach of them and couldn't even smell them without wanting to boak (the coconut milk that does it).

Despite it being big and busy and polluted I fucking love this city. Forever discovering new things and places and finding new stuff to do.

Thats what they call the local gals now do they, bet they taste like that aswel.

No work today, or tommorow so for some reason we have my mates booked some nasty BnB in Blackpool and we are heading there for the night, possibly weekend (see how much of a shitehole it is). Taking a load of ninja turtles and local coke dealer is sorting us out a BOGOF deal for letting us down last weekend, hopefully there are some places to go and we wont end up in some shit bar, probally will..

Have a good one anyway, CUNTS.

Yeah we used the Skytrain to get about as much as possible - walking was just crazy, especially if your new to the area and want to soak everything in / take photos etc. I think we only did one rush hour (evening) and it was just too much for me as I like to take in the sights as I go. The street food is fantastic - I can remember buying a bag of baby cuttlefish that had been bbq'd and then served in a seriously hot sauce for next to nothing - bought this very strange bbq'd green jelly stuff (tasted like a nori jelly baby but cooked). Not sure wtf it was but went down a treat :D.

Glad your settled though :)

I've seen the green jelly stuff in the salad bar at Tops (not sure why people would eat jelly with salad?) but never BBQ'd. I've no idea what it is tbh. Is it sweet?

Some of the thai desserts are really good. Honey toast with ice cream is delicious. There's a street place beside me that does it for cheap as shit.

Yeah I'm pretty settled.

Nice enough pad close to the Skytrain with all mod cons, pool, gym, maid service, WiFi etc for £160.

£200 or there abouts when you include bills for electricity and water.

Complex has 2 restaurants, a 7/11 type shop, massage and salon, loads of street food and cheap restaurants outside, plenty of bars around etc.

Can't complain. :D

£200 a month all in for rent and bills.

My total spending costs for everything including rent and bills, food, drink, nights out, visa costs etc are between £650-£800 depending on whether I need to extend the visa or do a border run.

That's eating out every day (usually street food or cheap Thai restaurant) but also going to chain places or Western joints 2-3 times a week, drinking all the time, 2-4 nights outs or dates a week, every weekend is a massive session, shopping at over priced Western supermarkets, paying to have room cleaned and laundry washed, dried and pressed.

Canna beat it.

I had a plan when I got a fair bit of cash to go to Thailand, Laos then onto Peru but I got caught up in some shit called "love" & never did it, my god I would still be over there now at those rates.

Hope your having a good 'un :)

Thailand, Laos and then onto Peru? That's a bit of a jump of continents.

Peru is also epic. In my top 3 visited countries.

Go now.
