Television Breaking Bad

^I don't hate her as much as Margaret Thompson on Boardwalk Empire, but it's close.
BB's female characters are a dicey lot in general. Skylar's sister, Jesse's junkie gf. Even Brock's mom got pretty tiresome to observe eventually.

I wonder why Cranston didn't opt for a Malcom in the Middle tatt. Maybe he and Frankie Munez can still remedy. Get a pair of tighty whities tattooed on his ass, or something.

I like and dont like this show at the same time. Im at season 4 episode 4 rite now. I think Jesse and Walter are godd characters, the actors protraying dem are doign a perfect job imo. The baqd parts are first too many cheesy scenes, i dont liek that. Secondly DAMN Skylar and Marie are the living interpration of everything i depise and hate in a woman. I dont know but i sometimes mute when its a scene with either of them and there is not walt and shit because i cannot fucking stand them. Either the actresses are doign a good job or they really are playing themselves and theyu are afucking bitches. This really fucks up the show for me. BUt apart from that i liek the rest, wouldve been great if we saw more tuco, that guy was funny haha. But if i compare it with say the wire, TW is 100 times better. No drug series can ebat the wire IMO.

Hey. I didn't know you watch Breaking Bad. I think you're at 100 PM's.

Also, I restarted from the 2nd season season for funsies. This time, trying to give Skylar a REAL chance to look at her from a fair perspective. I mean, I really tried to give her more a than fair shake. I still HATE her. It mean, honestly, it isn't just the anger and the frustration she always has towards Walter... it's the way she says it. It's her delivery that grates me so hard. I should just move onto the 4th season where she becomes tolerable again.

I miss you like I miss Phil Hartman.

I miss Phil Hartman like I miss Phil Hartman. :(

I miss you like I miss Lionel Hutz!

Saul Goodman is great but he's no Hutz.

I thought I was the only one who missed Phil Hartman! And to the same extent Lionel Hutz and Troy McClure. You may remember him from films such as Leper in the Backfield or The Erotic Adventures of Hercules.

Just the other day I was bitching about Phil Hartman's bitch wife. Way to kill the laughter. Bitch.

I'll watch The Wire, but from what I hear it's a police show... probably a lot more "formulated" than BB. Honestly, if there's any recurring characters on the show that annoy you with their behavior, it's because you don't like people like that. The show is wonderful and does a good job of portraying these people and picking the perfect actors. I think your problem is you just wouldn't like Skylar or Marie in real life, shouldn't color your view of an epic show like that.

I loved the Skyler of seasons one and two, before the show got really dark and turned her into a hackneyed tragic figure.

The scene where she kicks Walt out of the house at the end of season 2, she has a lot of dialogue where she's confronting Walt with lie after lie, which Walt is frantically refuting. And then her eyes get really small and she whispers in a really cold and calculated way,

But then, I called your mother. Yeah. Thanks for that, too. But I thought, y'know, maybe she has some money that I don't know about? Maybe she contributed? It's possible. It turns out that not only is the money not your mother's, she didn't even know that you have cancer. You never went to see her. I dropped you at the airport, I picked you up, you were gone for four days, and yet she swears that you were never there. Lies on top of lies on top of lies.

That whole scene she was perfect, yet when you read the script, the dialogue is very plain. She made that scene memorable, and it's one of my favorite scenes of the series. That's before she found out the truth and slowly gave up all control. It's before her character got dull.

If you think about it, the story kind of has to play out like that. Walt is such a calculating guy there's no way he could be caught without brewing up that huge shit storm. I think you all just didn't like her because you wanted to see less of the family and more of them cooking meth ;)

and I agree, wholeheartedly.

In defense of The Wire, I would call it just about anything but formulaic.
It's, I guess, a cop show at its core. But in any given episode you might get POV's from a school teacher, a reporter, the mayor, a homicide cop, a corner kid, a drug kingpin, a dope fiend, etc, etc. and they all tie together. Which is part of where it's brilliance lies.

I fucking love BB. It's bittersweet having it end. In the back of my head I'm worried that the end episodes will be a letdown. But I don't think they will.
I really, really hope the finale is epic and lasting in its impact. What they've built deserves no less. And they obviously do big well. See- taking out Gus.

Skylar and marie are the only ones who drive me crazy with their ways. Mike,Victor,Jesse,Walter, Brock's mom, Jane, Gus dont get on my nerves. Youre totally right, if i was with a woman like skylar or especially marie, i would dive out my window and run for my life lol. Like i said all the actors do a perfect job except those two...why choose such cunts? And the wire has more police involved but its way more catchy, more action, more raw, almost not cheesyness too,its great.

Somehow, I like Marie now. She's one-deminsional and that's ok, I guess. I think what made me like her was the 'groundhog see his shadow' scene. Fucking hilarious. I felt sorry for her dealing with Hank though it did result in some really awesome dark comedy. MINERALS MARIE!

I can't enjoy watching a woman whose husband makes >$50k a year, has an actual life skill that can result in a job, KNOWS her husband works at a fucking CAR WASH after his real job, literally spends her entire time at home bitching at her husband for 2 seasons before she does anything productive and think she's a reasonable person.

Who in their right mind is like I'M HAVING A BABY, A CHILD GOING TO COLLEGE AND MY HUSBAND HAS CANCER... should probably remain a stay-at-home mom. 8( If her excuse is Walt kept insisting that's still really bullshitty. I wouldn't let my husband drive us to bankruptcy for pride's sake.

That said, you could say 'who in their right mind starts cooking meth and killing all sorts of unsavory people, arguably for his own pride and think he's a reasonable person'. ;) I guess I just don't like her.

Honestly, I fault Gilligan. I remember reading an interview where he said he didn't know why people didn't like Skylar because her reactions are how most people would react to the situation. And I agree. I just think he doesn't know how to write women characters aptly. I'm sure it's more difficult than writing a likable Walter White, strange as that may be.

Hi im troy mclure, you may remember me from such educational films as fuzzy bunnys guide to you know what...and locker room towel fights, the blinding of larry driscol. God i miss the old simpsons with phil hartman. Another two films he was in was the tale of johhny lead foot and alices adventures through the windsheild glass when he was teaching drivers ed lol...

Has anyone seen the BB commercial that's just Bryan Cranston reading Ozymandias? It must be new because I can't find it on youtube.

Some people may have a problem with how pretentious that makes the show seem, but he reads it so well!

I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: "Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
`My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!'
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away".

Doesn't bode well for the White family.

Yeah I saw that. Somehow I don't think this is going to end well for good ole' Walter.. :\

I liked when hank was a dick to a marie. I dont like hank too much, but he can be funny. Marie-hell no. Anyways when she was shoplifting and was crying at the police station i found it verry funny, because shes a hypocrtie who puts down drug users but does''criminal shit'' too.

And i totally agree, VInce probably just doesnt know how to write a character like skylar well, thus making her a dumb and aannoying cunt lol.

Just finished season 4, the scene with gus was epic.
