Marijuana withdrawal symptoms.

I love seeing this question asked because I have an answer based on personal experience. Contrary to popular belief (among stoners especially), marijuana can and does cause effects on the CNS that exhibit themselves in physical ways. I often vomit whatever I tried to eat after 24 hours without marijuana. This started at 15. I have some mental health issues which are helped by marijuana. But when I run out they come back very strong and can cause all sorts of physical problems. Low energy, low appetite, muscle tiredness and aches, inability to sleep, erectile dysfunction. An endless number of things that you don't want to read about. Running out of OC with a 40+ mg a day habit was a piece a cake compared to running out of weed.

Marijuana acts as a mood stablizer and is much more effective than Lithium or Seroquel for me. But if I choose to use marijuana as a medicine for a thing like that I just make damn sure I don't ever, ever run out.

I'm pretty sure physically addictive means it produces dopamine. Which cannabis doesnt. Or something like that anyway.

Cannabis does affect dopamine... I don't know how to explain it scientifically but cannabis does give more dopamine... or something. It acts positively on dopamine within your body.

To OP: Why are you so persistent? Why is your behavior so strange?

I challenge anyone to find a psychoactive substance that someone won't argue has physical withdrawals. Anything that you abuse heavily for long periods will give you some physical symptoms when you suddenly stop. Weed included, it's just much, much less than other drugs, like opiates

I smoked for many years straight when i was younger, and don't remember any real withdrawal. I think most of it is mental IMO. I quit because i wanted to, because it started giving me bad anxiety. So i actually felt much better when i stopped smoking. Everybody is different

Weed definetly is addictive to some extent, I've smoked daily for a 2-3 years now and I'm cravin a joint as we speak.. Like I'd do alot to get that joint.
It certainly is less hard to quit than pretty much everything else though.

But from experience, not any science or anything, I can say weed IS addictive to some extent, you will crave it if you love it like I do..
The worst part is life seeming boring or dull when not smoking.. playing games for example just sucks without weed now.
I wish weed was sold like alcohol to adults, that way I could probably smoke a little everyday and be fine

funny you post this, almost exactly my situation also. however, i have a combo therapy (unofficially) of weed, and lamictal just helps on those days when i cant smoke

"Weed" is not "physically" addictive. Like anything thou if you do it daily your mind/body will get used to it and want it. If you ate jelly beans everyday for a year and stopped you would crave it or have affects from it. I was kinda cheating by picking sugar but the same would be true for carrots as long as it works in your mind per se.

Some people deal with the cravings differently or just don't notice them as much because of who they are mentally and physically.

Bottom line weed is not physically addictive but your mind controls your body so it can make your body do what u want. Yes what u want subconsciously or consciously believe it or not. Some people's minds fabricate symptoms to get the attention they crave or the "energy" they need :-)

Just my opinions except for the FACT that weed is NOT physically addictive!!!!! Period!!!

Whenever I give up smoking I get physical withdrawal symptoms.

I will have trouble sleeping, when I do get to sleep the dreams are incredibly intense and I wake up saturated. I also have no appetite. The crazy dreams/sweating only last for the first 3-5 nights then physically I'm fine but then I only usually last another week or so and I'm back into it daily again.

Nausea, lack of appetite, lack of energy, depression, anxiety, insomnia, anger, sweating, crazy dreams.

These are all extremely common symptoms. I had all of them. Most will be gone in a week. Depends on the person. Depression, anxiety, and anger will take longer.

The physical symptoms are not really that bad except for the insomnia.

yeah. i definitely get irritable from weed withdrawal. maybe have trouble sleeping one or two nights, clears up after a few days but vivid dreams persist a while.

Every single person is different but, I definitely notice physical changes when I don't smoke.

I get extremely warm not like a fever just a temp or so over normal enough to physically feel, no appetite at all regardless of how long it's been since I've eaten. Insomnia but, I assume that's because I make a habit of smoking around bed time.

The dreaming thing is bevause weed suppresses REM and when u stop smoking you remember your dreams more because its like your mind has been blocked from remembering for so long so it remembers move vividly.

The insomnia is because weed helps you sleep when you stop your body is used to using weed to help sleep. So it isn't producing the right chemicals to help you sleep because on weed it doesn't have to the weed helps u sleep
The appetite is the same thing.

Phyical addiction is when your body actually craves a substance it needs it to operate. These symptoms are the fact that your mind got lazy and let the weed do the work. Your mind used the saved energy somewhere else :-)

If it's physically addictive, I must have extremely strong willpower.

this lol. I smoke about once a week (top quality dank) and although it'd be nice to smoke daily, I've got too much going on right now to do so. I can easily control my intake, it's not a problem.

Weed is a bit like video games. Sure if you're playing every single day you may find it difficult to stop for a few days...but the majority of people can control themselves. Potentially habit-forming, but not physically addictive.

Everytime I've quit I get realy bad anxiety but I can usually cope with that with some xanax or other benzo. The first week usually sucks but after things get much cleaer. Easieset drug to get off imo from prior experience with coke and heroin.
