love arab strap them the beta band , mogwai , unkle and spiritualized all got hold of me at the same time use to love the breeze block on radio 1 97 ish had over 200 90 minute tapes of that till some nonce cunt robbed my house took my entire collection one day when i was at work :(

Been listening to Danny Byrd's 'Golden Ticket' album. I'm an old school drum and bass head yeah and some of this commercialised chart drum and bass bullshit that has piggy backed its way into the charts on the back of dub step I find disgusting. There are exceptions than can tread both lines. Sub Focus and early Pendulum spring to mind. This album is different though. It has the jump up vocal commercial stuff but I wasn't put off by it. It was nice and breezy in places and sort of worked if you take the vantage point that Danny is poking fun at drum and bass as it stands at the moment. Trouble is he tries to please two crowds. The new comers and the old school. A few tracks are produced in the deep dark old and analogue style. He fails at this. For fucks sake if you want to make a bassline sound like an analogue take use a analogue synth not a 'brand nu' reason refill.

I'll post this track because it made me smile big time. This track is not drum and bass. Before the haters switch off. It has a great pop vocal (don't believe me? Listen.) and a bouncing contemporary bassline. I shouldn't fucking like this. It made me smile though. A lot more than it should. Summer + Westons + this next tune = :D

I kinda know from the title I'm gonna like that one, Ben. Mainly cos I'm quite fond of the few Fuckpony tunes I've heard thus far and have posted one or two... Not that one though so will listen next :)

Gonna have to be more from the above cos this album is making me =D from ear to ear tonight :D
