As above i will not meet some one who is drunk it is out of order & an insult imho.

I suffer with anxiety the last thing i need is a Pissed up person with me in MY HOME CITY.

Thoughts ?

I don't blame you really. Drunk folk, myself included, can be annoying. Last thing you need especially with anxiety issues. I think for at the very least for a first meeting with someone you have come to build some kind of relationship with shouldn't be under those circumstances. Why would it? How are you meant to get to know the other person properly let alone remember any of what happened half cut?

I have assumed this means a first time meeting thing. Different if you are drinking yourself I presume. Example would be actually meeting them for a drink.

My city is small & i am well known so it has a big like 90% chance i will meet someone .

Any1 who has been here with me will confirm this

no 100 % at least 5 people tbh

Drunk people are only tolerable when oneself is also drunk.

Yep. Agreed Curious_24. Very drunk people anyway. My mate was DJing at a nightclub recently and I said I'd try and go but after having some dental work done the same day I choose not to go because I couldn't drink and didn't want to be around drunk people while sober myself.

totally get this, I have no need to constantly think Iv made a knob of myself in front of people I know, well, anymore than I already do.

I suppose it all boils down to how you handle your booze.

My ex was one of those people who just couldn't drink because it turned him into a complete belligerent jackass every time. I also had a lady friend whose drinking caused many embarrassing evenings. She would get sloppy drunk, falling all over the place and frequently blacked out. Her husband just stopped taking her out in public and eventually divorced her. :(

My friend had a drinking problem for some time. After quitting heroin she switched one addiction for another, a lot like myself.
Sadly, she contracted hepatitis C during the 70's and didn't know until her liver started failing. She passed away in 2005.

Did we date the same person? My ex was an utter nightmare on drink and still is, to a point. I've had to physically restrain her once because she tried to drive her son to her mother's house after a drunken argument with her husband. I then had to restrain HIM because she had him at breaking point and he's such a lovely man usually. Stayed that night and the daft bugger fell asleep on me on the sofa ha. So yeah she doesn't drink any more. She's always been a bit of a dick, but booze is just the worst catalyst for it. Though I did get a good laugh out of the time she met her husband's ex and had to leave because she started yelling 'ZEBRA WHORE' at her.

But aye despite being a fairly heavy drinker myself, I don't like being around drunks if I'm sober, and I know a lot of other people who feel the same. One of my best friends will frequently roll up at mine acting drunk and go 'sorry I'm in a funny mood today' and it usually ends up with either me drinking to put up with it, or sending him home. I love him but rolling up at 10am arseholed is a bit much even for me.

Booze is a cunt, but so is sobriety :/

I generally like drunk people, I like getting drunk. IMO it totally depends on the person who's drunk, I know some terrible drunks, I know some great ones

Totally agree, can't handle drunk people most of the time tbh, it's almost insufferable.

Hope you enjoyed St Paul's Brimz. Nearly went meself but other bollox got in the way.

i dont like alcohol on its own any more, i just feel all sloppy minded. I always combine it with a stimulant and benzo of some sort and that usually results in a feel awesome alert, happy and relaxed cocktail. I pay for it for about 2 days afterwards though, i dunno if its because of antidepressants. Drunk people make me nervous cos a certain unpredictabilty creeps in, unless i know the other person very well indeed.

I find drunk people so boring when I'm sober. Not to mention embarrassing as the night clunks on and on.

Especially at work functions after the big wigs have gone home, people start draining the company credit card and generally act like pricks.

same. got nothing against people getting drunk but if im not drinking i quickly get bored. its easy for people to say something out of character or whatever and get misunderstood which is easy to see when sober. ime alcohol is pretty fucking dangerous :D

Yeah haha, it's a bugger. The amount of arguments started just cos booze gets thrown into the mix is terrible. Pretty much the only person I can stand drunk when I'm not is my missus and that's cos she's twig-like and will be all cuddly and lovely after just two beers. Shockingly though she can still throw back the spirits like a champ, we went through a bottle of tequila plus pub drinks on NYE, but that does end up with me carrying her to bed or holding her hair back.

Are you suddenly off the booze brimz? I know you were getting pissed up yourself not too long ago. Did you just stay in on your own for fear of insulting someone by your mere presence?
