Xanax to be more accurate, i know how it works by affecting the liver enzyme. i just dont know which grapefruit juice works best and how much longer the duration of high will be. any help?

If I recall correctly there's a very specific set of benzodiazepines that WGJ will potentiate and I don't think that Alprazolam is one of them.

I know that when I took Diazepam after consuming ~1L WGJ an hour and a half prior I would notice a distinct boost in the time it lasted. Generally Diazepam would last 4-6 hours but I would almost feel the Diazepam all day.

White Grapefruit Juice is a very efficient potentiator, I've read it can actually increase the blood plasma levels of Diazepam by 300-400%. Don't quote me on this though, I'm going of years of memory.

yes its rue grapefuit juice does do that. but in my experiences i have learned that it prolongs both GOOD AND BAD things. help u stay buzzed a lil longer, but on the flip side (atleast for me) keeps the downer effects or come down longer too.. honestly the extra 15-30 mins of 50% effects is not worth 100% of downer effects for an additional 30 mins :P if u know what i mean

I have heard from several sources some saying is does potentiate alprazolam then some said it doesnt..also why on the prescription bottles would it say not to consume grapefruit then if it didnt affect it? also i have heard some say only ruby red works and some say only white gfj works. any links that could confirm all your information?

I've lost count long ago how many times I've tried that combo. It just don't work for me. And I've tried everything from white to red to ruby, concentrate to not from concentrate, with pulp and without pulp, sugar added and no sugar added, refrigerated and room temperature, fresh and expired, ripe and no so ripe, and so forth. Clarithromycin on the other hand - wow.

^isnt that an antibiotic? how does that amp up benzos?

white gfj seems to work for me, but im also on mmt so that could be part of it too, doesnt increase the euphoria or anything, it actually feels like it makes me more groggy bc it isnt being broken down as fast. i generally dont do it anymore.

It's a very potent CYP3A4 inhibitor, which is the enzyme used by the liver to break down Alprazolam/Xanax.

That being said, again, it's one hell of an antibiotic when it comes to inhibiting the aforementioned enzyme - so much so, that I would caution anyone who's thinking of using it to be extremely careful (i.e. - for the first time when mixing, only take 1/2 the usual dosage of whatever CYP3A4 substrate drug you're planning to use).

Be especially careful with the following:
- Alprazolam
- Triazolam
- Diazepam
- Methadone
- Fentanyl
- Zopiclone
- Cocaine
- Dextromethorphan (DXM)

Re. antibiotic - Yes, unfortunately (as stated up above) it is an antibiotic. And for that reason, many people won't be able to justify temporarily fucking up their intestinal flora and possibly developing an immunity to Clarithromycin's anti-biological effects for the simple reason because it's a very effective CYP3A4 inhibitor. On top of that, this antibiotic has a reputation for causing upset stomach.

Nevertheless, it's my preferred drug for potentiating CYP3A4 substrates, and I guess I'm one the lucky ones as I do not experience any stomach or GI side effects.

Hmm, interesting to know, thats why i love bl, learn so much everyday. Any other antibiotics have the same enzyme inhibition? Not something id search out for, but just interested if others do it.
