Starts Friday, and all of next week - will be pushing 30 apparently 8o Just saw on the goggle box its going to last all of July. Best get down Argos and grab a paddling pool before they all go :) Happy happy happy.

I realised today that certain types of glass (lightbulbs and old, cheap test tubes) can be induced to melt very slightly on a domestic gas hob... I've spent too long fucking about with that when I should have been working, but I have some interesting and possibly even useful items as a result.

get yourself some soda glass pasteur pipettes off ebay or so, they are really easy to melt on a gas hob and can be blown into little pipes or drawn out into huge thin capillaries, i used to do that and make like 5 feet of glass tubing hair thing from a single pipette, then use them to spot TLC plates. great fun.

Haha Myshkin feel for you man, I found half a Subutex pill this afternoon, I was feeling the shittiest I've felt in ages, thanks to my compulsive hoarder tendencies though I'd hid half a sub in my basement, man do I feel better now, only for the next 48 hours or so though(yes I can stretch it that long), then it's hell week. Have absolutely no cash for anything. The great thing is I haven't had a job interview for months and next week I have four, perfect timing, right when I run out of kratom/subs/oxy and have no money to acquire more. Perfect

Thankfully I stopped the taper in March and this is just for fun. Wouldn't even fancy a minute of it again though, never mind a week. Especially penniless.

been there, best mnove i ever made, just cut em all off and escaped. was tough for a few months but sometimes its the only way.

I always have to stop myself shooting crows. I want to, cos I like shooting things, and they're easier to hit than pigeons, but I don't eat crow, so I won't shoot them.

I was playing with my mate's brand new Wierauch HW100, fucking lovely gun...a .177

Sadly out my price range :(

I moved to this part of town for that reason really. Erm, that and, uh, chicks.

I'm running out of suburbs and no other city will have me.
 
.177 better for birds, the .22 does nicely for rabbits but with birds it seems to not be as effective. im just shooting these reluctantly because thy are a pest, and being woken up at 5am is a cunt. last time i only maimed the fuckers and had to cut their heads off with a pair of shears.

ah well something to do tomorrow anyway. also dusting off my lightweight 3oz spinning kit with the braid on the reel and going mackerel hunting this weekend. i have this perfect spot, go down, 1 cast and take in 3 - 6 fish then packup and go home, its great fun.
 
bipod would be nice, i tend to sit on the ground with my knees up and my left arm across one knee, with the end of the stock resting on the elbow, right hand on the trigger, head looking left. get a nice steady shot and its a relaxing position to sit in while you wait for a good shot.

@myshkin re chicks. tell me about it, i need a woman in my life bigtime.

Are the mackerel in up your way?

It's strange here, 10 years ago the mackerel used to be in all summer, now they are here in huge numbers through May and June, disappear (in huge shoals anyway), and come back again in Sept October.

i assume the shoals are travelling further north now as the sea temperatures are rising, and then come back down again as winter approaches and it gets cold up there...

has the mackerel fishing improved up there in recent years?

We're gettingmore herring now too in Spring, which used to be quite a rare catch down here, from the shore at least.

.22s are not so good for long distance accuracy, but yes, much better for mashing into a rabbits head than a .177.
