25i localized numbing

Are there any accepted theories on why 25i causes localized numbing in the mouth?

I'm familiar with sodium channel blockers, however the numbing sensation feels different than that of benzocaine, almost a tingling "falling asleep" type numbness. Since 25i is a full 5ht2a agonist capable of causing vasoconstriction, my belief is that it is causing the blood vessels in the oral mucosa to constrict causing paresthesia. Or perhaps some other psychedelic effect it has on physical sensations is kicking in on the nervous system at the location of absorption.

However I don't fully understand paresthesia very well, and this is all speculation. Does anyone know more information about this effect?

Are there serotonin receptors in the oral mucosa, specifically 5-ht2a variety?

If so, sounds believable, but I really didn't think there were any there.

I've also been curious about how Pentedrone achieves local anesthesia -- it's only an NDRI and doesn't have any 5ht2a activity as far as I know, but it does act as a pretty strong vasoconstrictor.

NE reuptake inhibition is vasoconstrictive, e.g. cocaine, epinephrine etc

I understand that, but why wouldn't any/all similar cathinones or amphetamines exhibit the same numbing effect? I guess I'm curious if Pent somehow acts on sodium channels when others don't, or if there's something more obvious.

It wouldn't be expected to. Generally sodium channel blockers have to have an ester or amide linkage.

Never experienced noticeable localised vasoconstriction from MDPV or APVP like I did from NBOME compounds.

I can get on board with the vasoconstriction explanation (especially if there are other vasoconstrictors which are known to cause numbness, like some stimulants), but in any case here is the idea about local anaesthetics discussed:
