Turns out daft punk won't even be there, it'll be some visuals as they play the new album the day before release.
 
would have been if i got tickets. dunno about driving several hours only to sleep in my car and drive back. :\

although i am long overdue a nice cruise in the recently serviced pretty thing.
 
so is this where we talk about the new album? found it quite disappointing myself :( maybe it just wasn't what i was expecting and i have to just listen to it as what it is but idunno
 
i haven't heard it yet. were you expecting more electronica? i've read they used very little vocoder and drum machine.

i thought it was chill. i can understand some people being disappointed from having different expectations, but honestly can't see where the outright contempt is coming from.
 
i liked it a little more than the last album, but it is technically far superior. only the giorgio and contact tracks really floored me on first hearing. nice disco stuff, otherwise. some of the vocals were a bit bland.
 
I haven't gotten into them because I REALLY HATED "Homework". I cannot over-emphasize how much I disliked this record. I don't like the newest LP either, but I don't have the same passionate vitriol for it. What have I missed in between? :P

Discovery is clearly their best. Watch the anime which goes along with the entire bum for full effect.
 
Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder, Pharrell Williams, Todd Edwards, who the fuck was going to show all these young generations who already are being bombed by mainstream EDM poison, what GOOD MUSIC IS ????????

Really close to being my favorite daft punk album.It feels more mature and is really chill. I enjoy disco and retro music. So this album is perfect me.

Also they are releasing a mix of the album too. So all you hardcore EDM junkies will probably be happier with that.
