Benzos How to not get addicted to diazepam (Valium)?

if you became an alcoholic and used diazepam for hangovers, you'd be in such a world of trouble i could not imagine. Addiction to 2 gaba agonists at once as well as alcohol having other effects on the brain, the withdrawal from both would be seriously dangerous and incredibly painful.

if you can seriously limit your alcohol intake to twice a year then go ahead and use diazepam for the hangover, there's nothing wrong with that. If you're goal is to get girls though, you only have two chances a year to do this? I think you should increase your odds by finding girls in different settings.

You're not going to find a decent girl at a bar, you may but not likely. From my experience, most of them are emotional trainwrecks who lack self confidence (i mean the easy girls at the bar, the ones guys go to pick up lol no offense to girls who just like to go to a bar).

if you were an alcoholic before, diazepam is a huge risk to even touch. If you think it's easy to become dependent on alcohol then holy shit it's scary how easy it is to become dependent on diazepam and addicted as well. I speak from experience here, it will sneak up and grab you before you even know what's happened.

Using diazapam for hangovers is on hold. Ill just wait until Im old and get thai bride lol.

No I dont think for me becoming an alcoholic was easy and it defo didnt happen overnight.

I was stupid. I hammered it hard to develop the habit, even though i had control for a longtime. I did drinking games, I drank for toothaches, I drank to overcome boredom, stress. I drank whisky, I was first in the pub. I was immature I though i was a tought guy who can handle drink eventually drank handled me.

I drank myself into alcoholism. If I could reset everything like I had never drank before I have no doubt I could avoid all the problems I had and would be a normal drinker.

I remember drinking having a few too many first time room spinning awful. Eventually you drink so much that feelings goes away. Your sick, no problem its freshens you up you start again.

Thats why its saddens me when I see youngsters not respecting alcohol its a powerful drug, getting drunk is just so easily accepted in my country. The more and more you use abuse eventually you run the risk of it abusing and controling you.

So many people gave great suggestions here and said just what I would've (and then some), but I'll still chime in.

Long acting Benzo's are useful for tapers-but if you want to treat your anxiety and not become dependent, than your best bet sadly, is to not use any benzo at all, or limit your use to only once a week, or mayyyybbbbbeee twice a week. If it were Alprazolam you could probably take it up to 3x a week so long as you kept your dosages low and never took it more than two days in a row (and also didn't re-dose throughout the day), due to the fact that it leaves your system at a much faster rate.

With Diazepam its trickier. Diazepam itself has a half life of only a few hours, but it's metabolites have half lifes that can last as long as 100 hours. It's similar in a way to heroin, in that the actual drug 'diacetylmorphine' has a half life of about ten minutes or so, but it's metabolites stick around for a lot longer (comparitively speaking-Heroin is still a short acting drug though).

I've never taken Diazepam on a daily basis, but I do have experience with clonazepam which also has a pretty long half life. In the end I really can't say whether one has a better chance of avoiding dependence using a short acting benzo or a long acting one. They both have their unique pro's and cons. However, I will say, that for a long acting benzo, Valium is known to be one of the more euphoric drugs of its kind-probably due to its rapid onset. That would lead me to think that there's a higher chance of psychological craving developing, which is what usually results in people becoming dependent physically. If you find yourself able to use Valium ONLY when needed (granted you don't need it ten times a day lol) than you probably wont catch a habit. If you can't do that, escape while you can 'cause benzodiazepine withdrawal is hell.

That risk is inherent with all substances.

Thats true but using illegal drugs is more taboo some that arent even as bad as alcohol. Getting drunk isnt taboo and it should be. If alcohol was invented today and wasn't established I have no doubt IMO it would not be made legal.

Alcohol is a great drug if used moderation and respected.
