Benzos First time using Valium...

What would a recommended first dose of diazepam (valium) be?
Please take into consideration that I am addicted to OxyContin. I will be taking less than half my usual dose of Oxy to be safe so will probably also only need half the usual starting dose of valium.
I know mixing benzos and opiates can be dangerous which is why I want to be sure to start out on a very low dose to be safe.

1) I often run out of oxy and get sick and I know you only need to take half as much if you also take benzo's so my oxy will last longer 2) I've always suffered crippling anxiety and thus have always wanted to try benzos.

I DO NOT want to get "fucked up" or take enough to knock myself out. Just enough to make me feel a little calmer and to make the oxy seem a little stronger.

I usually take 40-60mg oxy at a time (usually to a total of 100-150mg a day) so was thinking of trying 20mg of oxy with 5mg valium. Would that be totally safe? I'd rather take too little than too much. You can always add to the dose later but you can never undo an overdose.

Be careful, though.. If you do try and get fucked up on valium you are likely to come to days later in a hospital bed / police cell

That sounds like a safe dose, just don't increase the oxy or the valium...or even try a lower dose of oxy. Maybe 10 mg oxy to keep yourself at bay with 5-10 mg of valium.

id do 30 mgs of oxy and 5 mgs of valium. this is just me but i have no benzo tolerance and ive taken 10 mgs of valium on my usually oxy dose which is only 15-20 mgs. 5 probaly would have been alright for me tho. 5 mgs isnt to much imo

Do benzo's make you black out like alcohol does? I thought they just made me calm and sleepy and a bit spaced out?

I think I'll try 5 valium and 10 oxy at first. How long does valium take to reach its peak? I wanna wait until it's reached it's peak before adding either 10mg more of oxy or 5mg more of valium?

I have NO benzo tolerance either. Only time I've ever had benzo's (lithium, I think) was when I was treated for alcohol withdrawal in hospital but I was given them to stop seizuring etc, I didn't take any more than absolutely necessary.

lithium isnt a benzo, it is a alkali earth metal. l ithium carbonate, in ionic or salt form, is commonly used as a psychiatric medication. A number of chemical salts of lithium are used medically as mood-stabilizing drugs, primarily in the treatment of bipolar disorder, where they have a role in the treatment of depression and particularly of mania, both acutely and in the long term. As a mood stabilizer, lithium is probably more effective in preventing mania than depression, and reduces the risk of suicide in bipolar patients. In depression alone (unipolar disorder), lithium can be used to augment other antidepressants.

have you ever drank alcoho before?? benzos are somewhat cross-tolerant with alcohol as they both affect the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA levels in the synapse. however, because you have never truly taken a benzo before and plan to mix it with oxy, follow the rule of the "halves". half your oxy dose when you take valium as the valium will make the oxy much mor eeuphoric and high IMO/IME. benzos arent good to abuse though, and dont really give you a high, so dont go downing the whole bottle of valium for a high, you will just black out. the benzo buzz is chill, and if you have anxiety like me, just coming out of an anxious state can be euphoric, but again be careful.

(3-4hrs after a big meal, 2-3hrs after a light meal), this will make a difference!! tkae the 30mg oxy and 5mg val and wait 30-60mins; see how you feel. if you arent where you want to be take 10 more mg of oxy, and 5more mg of valium..

DONT GO PAST 40-50mg oxy and 10mg valium. if you go past these limits then you will black out, possibly OD, do stupid shit, ect, ect... it is just soo easy to OD, stop breathing, and die with opiates and benzos. it is a really fine line between high and OD. know your body; know your tolerance. DONT drive and do not fucking drink alcohol unless you really want to kill yourself. be safe man, smoke some weed, chill at home, watch some tv, idk..... having a friend there who can watch over you and who can stop you from taking too much valium would be wise aswell..

Really sure you want to go this route? I love the combo but it is very, very addictive.

its a pretty small dose of Valium. but you run the risk of adding an addiction to Valium on to your addiction to oxycontin. benzos alone are quite difficult to come off. I had a horrible time coming off Xanax

Yes, I have drank alcohol. I was drank up to a half gallon of vodka every day for 3 years. I am almost 7 months sober from alcohol now, though, so any tolerance is probably gone.

Since I live with my parents and I will be home, I deffinitely don't wanna get high and do stupid shit. Just wanna make it so I can take less oxy and maybe help me sleep.

I'll wait 60mins before even considering adding then...I'll probably stick to 5mg valium just in case.

I'm researching valium online right now so I know the signs that I should stop and details of half-lives etc. I want to go into this as well-informed as possible.

oohh soo you do have a benzo tolerance, that is good to hear!!! yes librium is a benzo, and actually valium and chlordiazepoxide both metaolize into desmethyldiazepam so the feeling is somewhat similar in that regards. i meant to say valium is special because it goes great with opiates loool. sorry, im a little high myself. valium is a nice muscle relaxer; diazepam has ideal pharmocological properties (fast absorption, muscle relaxation, sedtion, ect..) for combining with opiates and for just being an awesome benzo heh.. i am a bad egg though, combining benzos and opiates isnt safe!!!

however, hearing you have a problem wth alcohol suggests you might develop a compulsive disorder for taking benzos, be very careful myfriend!! benzos and alcohol feel similar, but benzos are just so much better for my anxiety and i dislike the dirty feeling from alcohol.


like you said, dont do stupid shit and take more than 40-50mg oxy and 10mg valium. are you depedent on oxy, like if you dont have a certain amount do you get sick? how much oxy and how many times a day do you need to dose to feel normal. im just trying to gauge a better idea of your tolerance so i can come up with a dose for you that will set you straight without getting you smacked, and so i know how much to tell you is your limit.

trust me, if you listen to me, you will not overdose and nothing will go wrong. you will have a good experience. im not going to let you harm yourself. there is no reason to...

wiki isnt wrong. valiums halflife is around 50-100hrs and its main metabolite, desmethyldiazepam, has a 36-200hr half life..

when i take my valium, i can definitely feel it the next day.

Why is there always so much "benzophobia" around here? why do you have to come off them? Some people need them for legitimate purposes and people spend lifetimes on opiods and worse drugs, some people are just destined to remain on benzo's their whole life. What's the difference?

I was taking them on prescription first for anxiety then taken the ones I bought from friends after that just to feel anyway normal. Have you ever had a benzo addiction. tolerance builds quite fast I was taken up to 10 mg a day thought i was dying when i tried to come off them cold turkey. after a few days i had to start taking Valium as the cold turkey thing wasn't working I couldn't function the withdrawal was so bad. I would love to take them everyday even now for anxiety. but I know its not worth it in the long run. I have heard from my mates who have come off heroin that they believe benzos are much harder to come off.

Ohh, that's good then. Yes it was chlordiazepoxide they called it in hospital 'cause I remember thinking "fucks sake, just say "librium"" haha.

I take the oxy for pancreatitis but I also have muscle spasms in my back due to 2 slipped disks so the Valium may help with that.

If I go longer than 6 or 7 hours without Oxy I start sweating and feeling anxious and stomach cramps/diarrhoea/nausea start. I usually take 150mg a day and try to take 50mg every 5 hours or so to even it out.

Taking 80mg of oxy feels nice to me. Not high high but warm and sleepy and happy.

Well, you will likely get differing opinions on this Oxy8. It may be floating around in your bloodstream for that long, but you really won't be feeling it for that long. From your very many posts over the last few days, from your description it sounds like you get really rather high off your dose of oxy, so mixing in a benzo is generally considered to be not so safe.

If it were me I'd tritrate up over several hours, with 2mg doses, until nice and comfy, but not to the point of being munted.

Yes valium will help with opiate withdrawals.

I get high if I take 100mg or so in one go which I often do at night (usually with promethazine and a small dose of DXM).
In that case I will not take any oxy on the day I take the valium. Maybe add 2mg Valium and 10mg oxy increments.

From what everyone is saying, I guess the basic message "you can never start too low".
