Has anyone tried combining methylene blue with benzos? Methylene blue is a nitric oxide inhibitor, so it should prevent tolerance in a similar way that NMDA antagonists do.

It's also a MAO-A inhibitor. And it makes your piss change color.

Blue, or green, depending on dose level.

There was a Cracked article a while back that said it would be a Hilarious Prank to put methylene blue in your pal's drinks, but neglected to note it could possibly kill them if they are on, for instance, antidepressants.

There is this: Mayer B, Brunner F, Schmidt K. Inhibition of nitric oxide synthesis by methylene blue. Biochemical Pharmacology. 1993;45(2):367–374. doi:10.1016/0006-2952(93)90072-5.

That said, I'm not sure I follow argument for why this means it should block tolerance to MDMA. Can someone briefly explain that or point me to a relevant study? If it had any effect in this respect, I would assume it would go the other direction, as this study suggests that nitric oxide is an NMDA receptor antagonist: Manzoni O, Prezeau L, Marin P, Deshager S, Bockaert J, Fagni L. Nitric oxide-induced blockade of NMDA receptors. Neuron. 1992;8(4):653–662.

Also, it seems to me like if you consumed enough methylene blue to substantially inhibit nitric oxide, there would be some undesirable side effects like, e.g., erectile dysfunction.

Serotonin syndrome convulsions are HILARIOUS though! I'm done derailing this thread, carry on...
