For £20 I thought this was a funky purchase. The image makes it look pretty shite but in reality it give some good light visuals on the ceiling, and gave me the biggest headfuck ket session I've ever had. Lasers shine through a deformed rotating glass plate so you get good flowing movements of light. When taking ket in the dark I'll sometimes get these soft grey, ghosting visions of people that I consider to be halfway between thought and vision, and with the laser sphere these became bright vivid colours.

The video doesn't do it too much justice and there's a bit more movement with mine.

(link to a youtube video of one in action)
You have to take the plastic dome off the top first otherwise it's a little dull.

Do any of you use props or whatever when tripping?

Yeh, I bought my little lad one for Xmas last year. It's ace!! It really comes into it's own when you take the top off and allow the projections onto the ceiling. It can get a little repetitive tbh, but when you're in the 'right' frame of mind then who gives a shit?

I guess we could add it to the roll balls trickz thread? Cool and neat things to do at home when rollinz balls.?

Vicks Vaporub and lightshows all the way me.

I did once have a lamp that projected fishy stuff I quite like whilst swirlsome sometimes. Was a bit shit really though. And very noisy. I quite liked the pretty lights on your linky though.

to be fair if it aint toys or jewelry then it aint argos for me. dropped a ton in there yesterday on a 'dad' ring, high-chair, ocean sounds doll and play mat.
wild times. although the gadget your mentioning sounds kinda useful for my purposes too! word fubar!

my new job is opposite argos, adjacent to sports direct and vomiting distance from maccas...%)

shambles i laughed at the thought of your peaceful fishy lamp making lame ass whirring sounds! i'm imagining the noise of dredging the ocean floor!

There's a very slight whirring to this one but it's barely noticeable. Plus I'll usually have beefy headphones on listening to some music so not much would bother me :p

I see a lot of people mention the vapor rub so I'm definitely going to have to get my hands on some of it.

wicked i love eye candy stuff like that

nah i dont use props when tripping, dont need em, i like that sorta stuff when spangled though. strobes, lasers, UV

Just remembered - I made my own psychedelic projector when I was 15 and just getting into weed & psychs. My dad gave me an old slide projector which I converted by mounting a small AC motor on top of the slide slot, with the shaft running parallel to the light beam. When the projector was turned on, the shaft on the motor turned at a leisurely 2-3 RPM. Then I cut 2 disks about 15cm diameter out of overhead projector film, got a bucket of water then dropped oil paints onto the surface of the water to make the classic 60's Pink Floyd trippy blobs. I then placed one of the disks onto the surface of the water to pick up the pattern, which was then sandwiched between the two disks. The edges were sealed then mounted onto the shaft of the motor. The disk fitted in the space meant for the slide, so the trippy blobs were projected, slowly revolving, onto any convenient surface. It was a total success, and many a happy hour was spent watching my trippy lightshow. Eee, them were the days...

I decorated our loft room festival style when the kids were little. It's got all the usual toys, games, Xbox etc but also loads lamps and sparkly things - lava lamp, projector, UV, fairy lights, glow in the dark stars, smoke machine and hand painted trippy bed covers. I was going to redecorate but the (now grown up) kids told me to leave it. It's like a big cosy, glowy cave. My daughter's boss stayed here recently, I think he was a bit baffled by it but he tweeted a pic to his mates.

Love this, works brilliant and is real nice old psychedelic sort've visuals. Sat and watched for hours one time and didn't see any form of repetition either.

Yeah that's a slight problem with the sphere, about every 20 seconds or so it repeats. Not a problem if you're under the influence though!
