Like a week inpatient, by a freak accident and stupid fucking people, but I've told that story several times. lol

I just never believed it would be better than going to a sub doc and doing it at home with help of family. Didn't see it as money well spent and I'm clean now for almost a year. I'd rather sit at home when not feeling well and not have to deal with anyone. I'm not a very nice person when in w/d at all. I'm much more likely to say what's on my mind when someone does something that pisses me off.

Just so everybody is certain, this means DRUG REHAB, Not for a mental illness or eating disorder, etc....It seems obvious but some ppl are like, i wasnt there for drugs or watever, Well if you didnt go to drug rehab for drugs, pleaase dont vote on this poll, or vote for no.

I went to drug rehab for drugs but it was complete bullshit why I was there. Just sitting around waiting for my freaking court case to come up...

yeah ive been for speedballing coke and painkillers ended up in the hospital from doing e and coke and painkillers fuck heart attacvks at age 15 my life sucked back then but now shits better :)

Currently in intensive outpatient 3 days a week... kinda blows. Been sober for almost three weeks but I've got reservations.

^I have my doubts that outpatient can be seriously intensive as they cannot control you 24/7

I successfully got clean in an "intensive outpatient" dual diagnosis program (combined rehab/mental health). I didn't vote because I don't think mine is on the list. They let me detox from benzos on a 3-week taper, I was only able to do outpatient because I was only 20 and had just moved back in with my parents at the time. Of course, I could have raided my mom's possessions and gotten fucked up one more time, but I was going through hell already and didn't want to prolong it.

Only relapsed once since then, I've been staying off benzos but I still do just about everything else. Somehow, only benzos managed to bring me down, I haven't come close to an opiate, coke, or speed addiction, maybe just because I'll never fall in love with another drug...Then again, I've got plenty of time for that.

When my parents found out how bad my opiate use had gotten, they tried to get me to go to detox before I moved back home but the people at the detox place nearby said I do "too many drugs" to get into detox. I found that really funny, to my mother's dismay. The person I talked to said that I would need medical supervision since I had been on so many different opiates in the past week (heroin, oxycodone, morphine, fentanyl, all IV), which I think is kind of stupid because she didn't ask me anything about the amount of opiates I'd been using; just what kind.

The funny thing is I never even got sick when I stopped after my binge, and have had a decreasing amount of cravings ever since..all by myself.

Rehab

Ever been to rehab? How was it--did you see anything crazy?

I've been to inpatient twice, IOP once, for a total of 17 months... FML :|. Once in Louisiana (fuck that place), twice in NC.
I've seen about 4 or 5 people leave in handcuffs, probably 70 people get kicked out, gotten high probably 10 times in inpatient & every week in IOP. One guy I knew died & another had a heart attack/triple bypass surgery who then almost got kicked out homeless & broke because he couldn't work for the place & bring in monies :\.
The craziest thing I saw was when our intake guy brought in 3 paid clients at once, convinced the house to take him to Walmart, then split with $9000. He got tracked to a hotel room that night & ran off with $300 and no shoes haha.

I've been there twice, both for 1 day and 1 night. It was of my own free will (well, my parents kinda forced me). Both times I realized it was not for me, and in the end I did everything I was going to do in there at home instead. I didn't see any crazy stuff during my extremely short stays, but I hate to think back to when that shit went down, I was in a very bad place mentally back then.

Oh I forgot to mention once I got in a car wreck & was forced to spend 4 days in hospital because a doctor 'didn't think I was not a threat to myself'

Cocksuckers. Send me a bill for $3000 for incarceration? Yeah, lemme get right on that lol.

Before rehab I was all "oh man I'm so hardcore I shoot heroin and oxymorphone" but then I got there and all the coke and heroin heads were just chillin, and some alcoholic flew past me, pants-less, with shit smeared on his legs, screaming "where's Robert where's Robert"

Really changed my views on what drugs are actually "hardcore"

Other than that it was boring

^I noticed that too, that it seemed to be an extremely painful experience for alcoholics, shaking and shivering while the rest was doing ok (all things considered). I didn't stick around to go into benzo w/d there to compare which one was worse though. =D And back then I was eating like 300mg valium per day, they gave me 10mg per day, lol.

^Alcohol w/ds aren't so deadly.

I like the young kids who act like they're fucking hard gangbangers and shit, not realising there's guise who are straight out of a 20-year prison bid aha. White boys talking about how they were down with their crip sect and whatnot is quite laughable.

I had to go to classes for weed possesion and got offered crack by the 2nd class

waste of time imo, but its somewhat entertaining at least compared to the alternatives
