I'm improvising a first-aid kit for me to carry it while hiking and I was thinking about including some cocaine in it. Cocaine is a vasoconstrictor so I was thinking in an emergency it could help treat two conditions: bleeding and anaphylaxis. I dont know if maybe cocaine has some other side effect that may nulify its ultility against these two conditions...

Well I know it could be used as an anesthetic if you really needed one and only had cocaine. You'd probably be better off with lidocaine in that area, honestly...

As far as your concerns.... I'm really not to sure. Cocaine should definitely never be combined with vigorous physical activity, that's for sure. But as far as in an emergency, it sounds like more of a risk carrying cocaine on you when you could instead keep isopropyl alcohol and/or peroxide along with bandages for the problem you stated, then try to seek medical care if it's really that bad ASAP.

I wouldn't really feel to safe carrying around a schedule II controlled substance, assuming you're in the US.

they call it marching powder for a reason. i'd use it as a "pick me up" when i'm low on energy and wanting to conserve food, obviously.

just make sure to have a quarter ounce minimum if you're going out for 2-3 nights.

*this post is pure sarcasm.

Idk I don't think it's particularly smart to carry cocaine around with you, especially for that sort of reason...if you get caught try explaining that to the cops :\ it would just be really dumb to get caught for that. I'm sure there are other legal drugs that you could use for that kind of emergency.
Although I'm very doubtful cocaine would work against anaphylaxis. If you've got allergies that put you at risk for anaphylactic shock, as I do, you can get a prescription for epinephrin/ an epipen from your doctor. Not sure why you'd resort to cocaine.

Stimulants can have some pretty deadly health risks when combined with exercise. Dangerous spike in blood pressure, pressure on the cardiovascular system, dehydration, and failure to detect the symptoms of hyperthermia are some. Be careful.

Cocaine helps with altitude sickness. If you are hiking in mountains i would say yes.

^Yeah but it's also a really bad idea to take something that'll drastically increase your heart rate while already participating in an activity that'll drastically increase your heart rate :\

Bad idea. Stick to the basics. When I go way back in the woods for a couple weeks my Dr usually writes me small amounts of hydrocodone, erythromycin, epinephrine etc. That is as crazy as I get with a first aid kit. If you're only gonna be gone for a couple days or close to rescue just pack basics.

Wouldnt amphetamine be a better option? it will do most of the things cocaine will but without the hefty legal issues and at least it actually classed as a medicine.lol

Cocaine isn't magic climbing powder - it's vasoconstricting properties are not a good thing, combined with climbing you're asking for a heart attack. Why do drug hobbyists insist on finding new and ridiculous ways to use their drugs? :?

edit: as krod mentioned the only recreationals that would ever find their way into a first aid kit appropriately are epinephrine and painkillers.

Try band-aids, gauze and compression wraps for bleeding, and if anyone is prone to anaphylaxis they will most definitely have the prescribed antidote on hand.

I know this is a drug forum and all, and I know it would be hard for many here, but honestly try not having drugs just for a fucking second, especially when you are in the mountains. The last thing you need is clouded judgement.

If you rip your elbow or legs and have a large scratch, pouring cocaine on the scratch will remove pain completely.

Im sure I heard somewhere that applying amphetamine topically to a bleeding wound will slow bleeding down considerably. Ive got no sources though as its just rolled out of the dusty recesses of my memory.lol

well it is a local anesthetic/vasoconstrictor. Lidocaine would probably do just as well, and not as likely to be snorted by you or snorted by someone like me who would look for opioids in first aid kits lol.
