I'm asking the fucking questions!
Testosterone injection related question.

Just asking because with each inject I'm probably losing about .1ml (less probably) of gear which is not optimal (3x weekly injections) for me but -

Each injection I do I notice I can't get all the gear out of the syringe, like no matter how hard I push the plunger, some remains in what I would describe as the “hub” or base of the needle (the little part that's coloured with a kind of air pocket/hole in it).

I've seen on other boards that some people leave some air in the syringe to make sure all the gear is expelled and all that remains is the air.
Is this dangerous at all? What happens if I inject a small amount of air into my muscle, will this cause any complications? Or will it just “dissolve” into my tissue? I'm talking less than .1cc of air here.

And yes I make sure to aspirate each and every time :)

I know there is a steroid forum but this applys to all drugs I'm assuming so please do not move as ill get better answers here I think.

Thanks

You can get specific syringes which have less dead space. Some brands advertise having far less dead space than others. A tiny bit of air is not going to cause problems though (several medical sites agree with me on this).

What syringes are you using?

You know, when doing an IM with a luer lock, you can have some air in the syringe, to make sure all the liquid gets into your muscle.

When doing IV you shouldn't add in air to your shot because of the possibility of an air embolism, but I've seen people do the same thing for IV because 10 units of air won't kill you, although more than 100 units of air could kill you.

It's OK to have a bit of air go into the muscle.

Highly unlikely even with IV. More like 10 CCs of air could cause a potentially fatal venous air embolism. Best to remove the air if you can of course, but injecting a tiny bit of air is very unlikely to kill you.

I think their terumo, not sure though the 1.25 23g needles are blue, 1.5 21g are green and the blue part has some sort of small bubble inside it? Is this small bubble an air lock and if so how does this work?
It kind of stutters a bit when I get to this part though not the rest of the injection

Injecting air into the muscle isn't a problem, vein yes but muscle no. Injecting air into the muscle or fat would not find its way into the blood stream very easily and would not cause an embolism. If a lot of air was injected into muscle or fat it would diffuse into the tissue and form a pocket until it was absorbed. The dissection may cause some discomfort and broken blood vessels at the most. Even still, best to avoid doing it excessively if you can.

you can safely have a bit of air. some people recommend to Inject a very small amount to "pack" the oil in. the syringes you described sound like the terumos I've had before for naloxone. but yes, a small bit of air is fine.
