I just Saw a copy of MC Shans album Down By Law

My name is M.C. Shan, my destiny is the stars
Being driven around in the freshest cars
All his beats and my rhymes are chill
Now I'm back once again ready to get ill
The beat's not fake, the rhyme's hardcore
My name is M.C. Shan and I'm down by law

It was only £6 mint vinyl as well gonna get a Turntable Next pay day £50 richer Sounds do a decent one for though am tempted to push the boat n the car n everthing out for A Technics 1200/1210

Their was also a copy of Ultramagnetic
Ultramagnetic Mcs - Give The Drummer Some

Enjoying the Gramatik stuff you've been posting lately Dan, time to get hold of some of their stuff, any album in particular you'd recommend?

Great guitar line in that track, nice, very nice.

Here you go the whole album

The Only Ones?

Gotta love songs about smack.

i love how people of a certain age group and certain outloooks
will have bonds in common unique to themselves; that barely anyone else alive will have heard of, I certainly cant imagibe Perret doing another tour, the odd gig maybe. Any1 who missed him on jools weeks back was in fact lucky as the whole performframance was a traversty of itself. NO FUKIN SELF CONFIDENCE for a start - how can you be a great rock band without that. The band seemed slack and under rehearearsed. No "oomph" about the performance.

If they wanna continute gigging who am i to stop them, They were no worse than WIRE who i saw live in the brickhouse manchester around the same time of year. I must admit a total unfamilaiarirty with their material did not help matters that night. Was hoping Mr Meph and Mrs MDAI would enable me to leap that bridge and get their "groove" immediately. Sadly not. not one o=f the best gigs ive been to, i stillf ind it unnecessary when some yob twat standing behind is yelling get off your awful, after every song just doesnt shut his trap and leave and make the gig slighlty less bad for every1 else. As i was apparently the only one drugged up enough /foolish enough/or with enough guts to turn round and give the cunt "a look" wow heroic me. Anyway that or someting else did shut him up.

STRANGELY ENOUGH, I WAS STOOD RIGHT NEXT TO STEVE DAVIS THROUGHOUT THAT GIG, WHO IS NOT ONLY KNOWN FOR WINNING PRACTICALLY EVERY SNOOKER TITLE DURING THE 80S, WE COULD HAVE HAD A LOT TO TALK ABOUT AS HES WELL INTO HIS WEIRD AND WONDERFUL MUSIC TOO (HE MAY HAVE LISTENED TO HAWKWIND BUT I CAN IMAGINE HIM HAVING DONE IT WITH A BLOTTER OR 2 ON HIS TOUNGUR, but it just didnt happen. Once he'd clocked id reckonised him, he cam and stood right next to me.SADLY AT THAT TIME ALTHOUGH ID HAD THE COURAGE TO GLARE AT THE MORON, I DIDNT EVEN HAVE THE GUTS TO SAY "hI STEVE, MY NAMES BUDDY YOUVE BEEN A GOD AND A ND A DEVIL IN THE WORLD OF SNOOKER FOR ME FOR THE WHOLE OF MY LIFE' ON REFLECTION THAT MIGHT NOT HAvE been such a great opener i could have just said "crap band!!" grinned, told him in been a grat fan and admirer of hIs all my life, (actually thats a lie Davis was not a popular figure in the earky 80-s due to winning EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME) and then judge as best as i Could i he wanted to continuue talking,

but no another thing i didint do got added to list of things i regret that i never did do

you can probably tell im on pv, so hope this makes sense. Also sorry CBA to correctly format the places where CAPS were wrongly inserted.

If its of any consequence and they know of a 10 second fix for it, good on em.

I had a specific way i wanted to sign off a post today, but that can wait for now.

All the best to people who know a hell of a lot about each other without ever having met, and for having GREAT TASTE IN MUSIC.

DID THE OTHER '3 AMIGOS' CONTINUE NON STOP DRUG USINg right through from their teens until now ? I did the usual 15 -30 age group, drug taking, spliff, hash, lsd, mushrooms, speed especially was si=o good in those daysm im sure it made music sound even better than proper pre ban meph - but great speed would make the music crackle and fizz...then i started loosing touch with all my contacts. So just had to try to learn to get on with life again without drugs. When Larry The Lambs kid told me about mephedrone on BBC3 i was straight back in to drugs but deeper and harder than ever;more freeedom, much more money to spend (im not rich - but am so compared to a student - The Irishism seemed to fit perfectly there);

With the freedom indepenedence and cash has come a lack of friends for me, but i have faith things will balance out again at some point.

anyway hope the pv ramble at least partially made sense,

mydrygbuddy, age 4 and a half.

BUT ALSO WELL KNOWN BY THE SNOOKER AFFICIONADOS ON HERE SUCH AS MUGZ I BELIEVE ?? FOR AN ENORMOUS RECORD COLLECTION OF THE MORE OBSCURE SIDE OF THE MARKET.

after writing all that i missed the bit about Coil, as they too have managed to pass by without my knowing it.

BTW I am considering trying my hand as a free-lance writer, on the kinds of topics that come up on BL. Could just do with a bit of initial feedback without undue harshness or ill be over yonder with my axe and claymore before you can breATHE. (but i am still going though paws and depression)

i KNOW I CAN PRODUCE BETTER STUFF THAN THE DM DOES, AS DOES ABOUT HALF THE POPULATION .... BUT IS THAT THE EDITOR PRESUMABLY DICTACTING NEWSPEEK FOR THAT WEEK. i WOULD BE AIMING BE a 'serious' writer anyway, i realize ive no chance there, but thet might be more freedom to say what you want around the fringes of normailty

I used to live in the same street as Robert Gotobed, drummer in Wire. Big squat area in Vauxhall. Which was cool because I was really into (still am) Pink Flag just a few years before that.

Steve Davis story is hilarious. Appreciated. I do like a bit of PV writing when the subject matter is understandable.

And yeah, can't stand comebacks. "Don't make a career out of it" - Mark E Smith. Ironically.
