^ The poster for that is nuts, plane upside down and on fire. I get the impression that it probably didn't go too well for that particular aircraft. If I was on that plane I'd probably still be grinning and pressing the button trying to get more booze as I only really fly benzo'd up to the eyeballs.

Ip Man is on Film4 right now.

Watch it!

It's the guy who schooled Bruce Lee when he (Ip Man) was older and tells his tale.
"Part II" is on tomorrow night by the by, and you should get right on it! :)

Brilliant
Brilliant
Brilliant

Did I mention this film is TOTALLY FUCKING BRILLIANT !

Been out ages this now but only just watched Dead Man's Shoes. Someone recommended it after I bigged up Tyrannosaur that I mentioned earlier in this thread on another forum as something else Paddy Considine had been involved in the writing of. Fuck! I mean . . . I don't even . . . Fuck. I can't remember when I've been so powerfully affected by a film, the closing five or ten minutes especially. Maybe have to go back to The Deerhunter first time I watched it maybe thirty years ago with Nick's death scene for something had me so slack jawed. Grim, dark, genuinely disturbing film, Considine couldn't be any more sinister, makes all the other supposed scary, hard men in the film look like children. Glad I was straight headed when i watched it, damn that's a bad one just waiting to happen in an altered state and no mistake, trippy as fuck, extreme psychological and physical violence. :\

Häxan, the Classic Cinematic Study of Witchcraft Narrated by William S. Burroughs (1922)

http://www.openculture.com/2013/01/...aft_narrated_by_william_s_burroughs_1922.html

If you like that ^^ try and find a copy of ^^ this - 'Witches Hammer'. It's Czech. I used to upload movies to a horror torrent site and forum ages ago. I upped the full DVD of this, it's really atmospheric and pretty critical of the church.

I haven't seen the Burroughs narrated doc, but it's now on my to watch list. It's from 1922 apparently (according to imdb), so how come Burroughs narrated it later? Why was it rereleased?

Thanks for the advice :)
I am a bit of a film buff tbh, got my missus to watch un chant d'amour & El Topo but can't get her into Japanese Cinema sadly :(

tbh I have no idea how Burroughs got involved sadly. I have never come acorss anything related to him doing it or any info.

My god Joel peter witkin & now strange films on magic, next we will be having cups of tea together.

oh yeah, found it :p

I watched The Rainmaker last night and it was a really good film, based on A John Grisham Novel, Matt Damon and Danne De Vito worked well together, I would recommend it highly. Courtroom drama with a bit more kind of film.

Not a fan of all that John Grisham kinda stuff really. *yawns*

Still got loads to watch but as I have to turn me lappy off to let it cool down every 30-60mins it's a bit of a pain in the arse at the moment. Summat suitably episodic may be in order...

I like courtroom dramas and I like films based on books or true stories, and I liked the Rainmaker

I've fallen asleep twice now whilst watching The Game with Michael Douglas, before anything happens both times, might give it a go for the third attempt tonight.

The A Team movie is on didn't know there was one . Bring it Cornell Decker .

Cos i know a plan is gonna come together ye haw:)

I have no real memory of how why when or where it happened but I'm positive I saw that A-Team fillum a while back. Think it may have been whilst visiting with folk cos can't imagine it'd be high on me priorities of ToWatch really. Think I even quite liked it actually. In a "stuff blows up, coupla giggles here and there, more stuff blows up, the end" kinda way that goes well with a few beers.
