I've read through so many threads on methadone dosages the past couple of days and I've come to a consensus. The people that find methadone euphoric and recreational are those that have never had a problem with opiates and have only really had light opiate use. The people who see no recreational value in methadone what-so-ever, for the most part, are addicts, people still tapering down or just taking methadone to prevent withdrawals, and pretty much anyone who has regular heavy usage of other opiates. They don't get high off of it.
Honestly that's a completely skewed view on methadone and those people's view on methadone holds zero value. That doesn't mean it has no recreational potential. I've read as much information as I could find and I completely understand the dangers of methadone. It's still a potent mu-receptor agonist so you will get high off it if your receptors aren't destroyed. Death seems to occur either from combinations with other CNS depressants or someone with little to no tolerance starting at 30mg or so which is incredibly high. Redosing also causes a lot of deaths because people don't wait long enough for the drug to take effect or think it has wore off even though it's still in their system and redose again 24 hours later.
So me question is, with little opiate tolerance, is 5mg a completely safe dose starting dose of methadone for recreational purpose ? I don't need anyone to try to convince me to use something else like heroin or tell me it's not recreational. Don't bother posting if that's all you're going to say. I'm fully aware of the dangers and don't plan to redose until AT LEAST 48 hours have passed. I will be acquiring 40mg of methadone in 4x 10mg pills and should be able to make it go a long way when spacing out dosing with a good amount of days in between. It's considerably cheaper than other alternatives and the long duration is very appealing to me. At such a small dose I don't think nausea is going to be a problem. Of course, I could even split the dosage in half again and only take 2.5mg but from all that I've read I feel as though that would just be a waste of methadone as redosing is something I'm not looking to do. Becoming hooked on it isn't really something I'm worried about as my way of sourcing this isn't something I can do often.
