I don't think dissociatives produce anything remotely like dreams.
The best by far is opium - this produces a strange half-sleep, half-awake state with very vivid dreams. Poppy tea will do the same.
^ I'm in complete agreement with this. In all my experience with dissociatives the hole experiences have never been remotely dream like. I mean the only comparison is that you see a bunch of crazy shit happen.. you can often take part in some of it and control it and it's very cool nonetheless, but I wouldn't compare it to dreaming, see with dreaming there's this sort of cloudy sleepy haze surrounding everything, with dissociatives its more like a cold bleak analytical doctor's office - amazing, but doesn't quite have the warmth of dreaming.
That said I wouldn't encourage you to go off and try opioids if you haven't tried them already as they're very very addictive drugs, a completely different reality to psychedelics. Having said that though in my opinion dissociatives can be almost as addictive (or just as addictive/more so) - but thankfully they lack the severe physical dependence opioids cause and so they're by far the lesser of two evils usually.
From my experience, a run-down of the things that might appeal to someone who enjoys dreaming:
Opiates/opioids - the high dose experience, aka "nodding" is a very dreamy trance-like state in which you slip in and out of vivid lifelike dream scenes, often awakening to be a little surprised and wondering how the hell you got to where you are given that you were somewhere completely different a moment ago, only to quickly realise you'd nodded off.
Low dose deliriants in the day, awesome dreams at night - The deliriant experience is most definitely NOT what you're looking for, deliriants are more like terrifying nightmares than dreams most of the time, and the rest of the time you can completely forget you've taken a drug and endanger yourself, your possesions, and those around you.. however, taking a small dose of a deliriant that does not have any noticeable effects will MASSIVELY heighten the clarity of your dreams, the amount of dreams you remember, and how lucid you become for the next few days. People often dismiss deliriants as having no use, but imo they have a wonderful use as dream aids, just they aren't for tripping! If you go for this I'd advise going for something like Diphenhydramine which is much safer to dose than some deliriants (e.g. Datura).
Dissociatives - Yes I just said they aren't anything dream-like, but that doesn't mean a dreamer won't enjoy them. If you like extreme worlds of fantasy, intense imagery flowing before your eyes, then dissociatives will certainly be a treat for you. Also very rarely a hole can sort of take on a nod-like feel to it and become a little dreamy, it's rare but I've had it happen to me 2 or 3 times with Ketamine.
Most psychedelics - If you don't mind closing your eyes first, most psychedelics produce stunning imagery and scenery to the canvas of your closed eyelids. Some psychedelics, in particular the 4-substituted tryptamines (e.g. Psilocin, Psilocybin, 4-AcO-DMT, 4-HO-MET etc) have a dreamy quality to them that most people notice, which really adds to the trance and the visuals involved.
Lucid dreaming you say?
Dunno if i already mentioned it in this thread (i have in many others) but I quickly became pretty good at achieving a lucid dream state..
Set your alarm for 3 - 5 hours before you normally wake up. Get up. Walk around for 5 - 10 mins (i used to eat a mars bar) while constantly thinking: This is a dream, I'm dreaming, This is a dream, I'm dreaming, etc, etc.. Then go back to sleep.. all the while thinking those 2 lines.. It took me less than a week to be able to lucid dream 60 - 80% of the time...
Seriously give it a go.. Lemme know if it works or not
^^ Yes do this, only try 1-2 hours before your normal wake time (well actually try both and see which works best for you) - I've tried both and both of them resulted in lots of lucid dreams, but 1-2 hours before I wake results in at least one lucid dream a night with some rare exceptions. :D
Discovered this a long time ago, thought it was a load of rubbish since it sounded too good to be true, went from having had like 6-8 lucids in my entire life to having about 20-25 in my first month actively practising that.
